Best Snacks at Walt Disney World Resort Hotels

When you're thinking about snacks at Disney World, do you ever think about the snacks at the resort hotels? Some of our favorite treats are found at the resort hotels and we've been known to visit a hotel JUST to get a particular snack (beignets we're looking at you).

Today we're going to check out some of the best snacks at the Walt Disney World Resort hotels so we hope you're hungry!

First on our list is the Magic Cookie Bar. This super sweet cookie bar is filled with chocolate and butterscotch chips, condensed milk, coconut, and nuts. The cookie bar is HUGE which means it's enough to share if you want. We prefer to eat a little now and save a little for later. You could find this cookie bar at Roaring Fork at Wilderness Lodge and Port Orleans Riverside, however Roaring Fork is currently closed for refurbishment (womp womp).

For now look for them at Port Orleans, or make them at home with this recipe from our friends at the Disney Food Blog.

Next up we're traveling to the Contempo Cafe at Disney's Contemporary Resort. The bakery case at this quick service spot is always full of delicious cupcakes and other sweets. You'll find seasonal cupcakes there throughout the year. Past favorites include the Birthday Cake Cupcake, a Frozen-themed cupcake with peppermint icing and chocolate cake, and a Churro Cupcake last year.

Another favorite that showed up last year is the Peanut Butter Pie. This confection is a Vanilla Tart Shell filled with Vanilla Cream, Peanut Butter Cream Cheese Filing and Chocolate Ganache. If you love peanut butter you need to try this snack!

Over at Disney's BoardWalk you'll find the new-ish Ample Hills Creamery and we're going share a tip here: if you LOVE ice cream you need to get yourself to Ample Hills. At this ice cream parlor you'll find a variety of house-made ice cream made with hormone-free milk and cream and organic sugar. Flavors include Ooey Gooey Butter Cake, Nona's Oatmeal Lace, Sally Sells Seashells, and more.

The Ooey Gooey Butter Cake and Nona's Oatmeal Lace are currently our favorites. You can order ice cream in cups, house-made waffles cones, and sundaes. If you can't decide which flavor to choose we recommend going with the Ice Cream Flight.

Since we're on the topic of ice cream, let's take a short walk from the BoardWalk to Disney's Beach Club Resort home of Beaches and Cream. At this popular dining spot you'll find several delicious sundaes and other desserts but there are two you just have to add to your must-eat list: the No Way Jose and the Kitchen Sink.

The No Way Jose is a towering sundae made with chocolate and vanilla ice cream, peanut butter chips, chocolate chips, peanut butter sauce, hot fudge, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. This is another must-have item for fans of chocolate and peanut butter.

If you're feeling really adventurous we suggest taking a group of people to Beaches and Cream and ordering the Kitchen Sink Sundae. This famous sundae feeds at least four people and features scoops of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, coffee, and mint chocolate chip ice cream topped with EVERY topping at Beaches and Cream. And, it is served in a kitchen sink.

One more frozen favorite on our list is Dole Whip. Yep, the must-have-every-visit sweet treat can be found outside the theme parks at the Pineapple Lanai at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Gone are the days of the self-serve Dole Whip, but this newish spot at the Poly is serving up Dole Whip and Dole Whip Floats.

The one thing we love best about Dole Whip at Pineapple Lanai is that you can still get it swirled with vanilla soft serve " our favorite way to enjoy a Dole Whip or float!

If there's one snack that warrants a special trip to a particular resort it's the beignets from Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter. This deep fried dough treat is a must-have every trip! They are great for breakfast, a midday snack, or after a long day at the parks. The beignets are made to order and they're so good they made Disney Food Blog's #OnTheList series! You'll find the beignets at the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is home to one of our favorite dessert items, Zebra Domes. This sweet treat has a solid fan following but some guests don't like the flavor combo. Zebra Domes feature Amarula Cream Liquor mousse topped with white chocolate and drizzled with chocolate, topped with chocolate shavings, all sitting atop a cake base.

You'll either love them or hate them, there seems to be no in between when it comes to Zebra Domes. While you'll find them on the dessert table at Boma's buffet you will also find package Zebra Domes at The Mara (the resort's quick service spot).

Last on our list of favorite resort snacks is the Tie Dye Cheesecake at Disney's Pop Century. This super colorful cheesecake is the iconic dessert for this hotel and while it no longer is served by the slice (it now comes in those dessert cups that Disney loves), it's still delicious and something we have to order at least once (or twice) every time we're at Everything Pop.

These are just a few of our favorite Disney World resort hotel snacks. We'd love to hear your must-have snacks from the resort hotels. Leave us a comment and let us know what we're missing!

Many thanks to the Disney Food Blog for use of their photos.

Starbucks is ours! The Starbucks here in the Uk is awful. In the US it is much better (although I know it's generally hated haha).
