How many days? The question simple, but the answer can be complex. It changes depending on when it's being asked, and who you're asking, sometimes there is even more than one response. How many days? Will put a smile on a frequent Disney traveler's face, because we all keep tabs on just how long it will be until we're back in "the World."

Online Countdowns

There are several spots online that you can go to find out how many days you have until Disney! I'm just going to mention the two that I use most often. The first place you can check your time to go is in your My Disney Experience panel at waltdisneyworld.com. This official count lets you know how long you have until you check in to your Disney Resort Hotel.

I'm staying off property, or I want to include travel dates of the trip before I get to Disney I create a custom countdown over at MickeyPath.com. Mickey path allows users to enter their pertinent information for a vacation, and then turns it into a bit of code that they can stick on their own blogs or use in the footer of online message boards. The step by step process this website uses is simple and there are some really fun combinations to customize your online counter.

DIY Countdown Decorations

If you head over to Pinterest you'll find load of creative ideas to DIY your Disney countdown. Below you'll find a few of my favorites that you can make with minimal supplies from your local craft store.

Get traditional with a Mickey Mouse themed paper chain, number your links and hang it around your room. Each day remove one link as you get closer to your trip.


Traditional Paper Chain Countdownate a countdown wheel using some brightly painted clothes pins to keep it all together in one place. The clothes pin option is a little more re-useable, but still allows for you to take one away every morning and have a great visual reminder.

And last - but certainly not least. This precious pin shows a gilded picture frame and some scrap booking supplies used to make a beautiful dry-erase style countdown board. I'd even put this one on my desk at work, so pretty and chic.
