Dazzling Shopping At Epcot's Kunstarbeit In Kristal

Shopping at Epcot can turn in to a marathon sport for me, and I especially love hitting all of the wonderful small shops within the World Showcase Pavilions. Being a Princess at heart I love to go for the sparkle when it comes to souvenirs and one of my very favorite sparkly shops can be found in Epcot's German Pavilion. Kunstarbeit In Kristal, is the place where crystal jewelry and fine collectibles by Swarovski, Princessa Plata, Arribas, Arnstadt, Nachtmann, and many more shimmer and dance with light to illuminate ever corner of the store.

Like many Princesses I have always wanted a Castle of my own. Kunstarbeit In Kristal, to the rescue! Here Disney Guests can purchase and take home their very own Swarovski Crystal covered replica of Cinderella Castle sculpted by Marc Delle - for only $37,500. The Swarovski company has been making the lead glass crystal for over 100 years and is known for flawless quality by enthusiasts, and ground breaking industry technology. Each of the 28,255 stones in this stunning piece of handcrafted and hand-enameled art has been hand-set by Arribas Brothers artists. The work is truly dazzling piece of Disney love.

If a grandiose castle purchase isn't your speed, never fear, every inch of this store is covered in one sparkling masterpiece after another. The designs here have been inspired by the full vault of classic Disney films that bring you back to your childhood, and create even more memories of your time at Walt Disney World. In addition to the beautiful crystal sculptures and figurines, blown glass statues, hand etched glassware, you can even help your princess pick out a special tiara to fit her mood. After all, fine jewelry is always an appropriate gift for a princess, and a Disney vacation is certainly tiara-worthy in my book.

A skilled Arribas glass blower operates a sculpting station within the shop demonstrating the artistry that goes into creating these fine pieces. The tradition of blown glass in Germany reaches far back into the middle ages, and it's been a staple of Disney souvenir shopping since the beginning. By gathering glowing molten glass onto the end of a blowpipe, master artisans then manipulate it by hand until the work is finished, right in front of guests. Blown glass jewelry can make for a fantastic and charming gift for a loved one. On my last stop at Kunstarbeit In Kristal I found these adorable blown glass cupcake necklaces. One of these would make a fabulous souvenir to bring home from the 2015 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.

$37,500 for 28,255 Swarovski crystals comes to $1.32 per crystal. Not a bad deal, actually! That castle is gorgeous! I'm sure it's even more stunning in person. If I had an extra $37,500 and someplace to display it, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Linda - If you are standing in front of the wine shop looking at the door, the crystal shop is off to the right.
