Disney Consumer Products Collaborates with Luxury Shoe Designers for Cinderella-Inspired Collection

To celebrate the upcoming release of the live-action Cinderella, Disney Consumer Products has teamed up with nine luxury shoe designers to create a collection of shoes that re-imagine that iconic glass slipper. The shoes will be available at select locations around the world.

"Cinderella's glass slipper has become a magical symbol of transformation," said Jonathan Symington, vice president and general manager, licensing, Disney Entertainment at Disney Consumer Products. "Each pair of shoes in this exciting global collection captures Cinderella's elegance and grace through the lens of celebrated designers, making this shoe collection truly fit for a princess."

The glass slippers worn by Cinderella in the live-action film were produced by Swarovski and the crystal company has provided crystals to be featured in each designer shoe.

Sandra Choi, Creative Director Jimmy Choo said of their shoe: "I think every girl desires a Cinderella moment in their lives. This story ignites a love affair and fascination with shoes that never dies. The power they have to transform is instilled from a young age and the fantasy remains alive forever. I wanted to create a shoe that felt magical, with alluring sparkle and a feminine, timeless silhouette evoking those childhood emotions."

These designer shoes will be available in the United States at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York and Beverly Hills. If you're visiting London you'll find them at Harrods and in Paris they'll be available at Galeries Lafayette. The shoes will also be sold in Milan, Moscow, Tokyo, and Dubai.

Saks Fifth Avenue is bringing the story of Cinderella to life in March by creating fairytale vignettes in the center six windows of the New York flagship store and select windows in Beverly Hills. The complete footwear collection will be displayed along with props from the film and pumpkins.

SO awesome - I would love that Jimmy Choo. I couldn't walk in them of course, but I could put them in a place of honor and admire them. LOL!
