Epcot’s Soarin’ Set to Close in January 2016 for Refurbishment

If you're making plans to visit the Walt Disney World Resort before the end of the year you'll want to make that FastPass+ reservation for Soarin'. The popular attraction located in Epcot's The Land pavilion is scheduled to close on January 4, 2016 for a months-long refurbishment.

Walt Disney World Resort made the announcement on the Disney Parks website page for Soarin'. The attraction is scheduled to reopen in the summer of 2016.

The refurbishment will include adding a third screen to the attraction in addition to updating it to Soarin' Around The World. The announcement of the change to Soarin' was made at the summer's D23 Expo in Anaheim.

Soarin' Around the World will take guests to far-off lands and will fly over unique natural landscapes and man-made wonders. The updated Soarin' Around The World will use the same technology that Disney is using to create Soaring Over the Horizon at Shanghai Disney.

Soarin' originally opened at Epcot in 2005.

Are you looking forward to the changes coming to Soarin'? Let us know in the comments.

Soarin...the best attraction at WDW. Makes me smile and giggle each and every time. Am looking forward to the new additions to the ride. Will be fun to see new places and adventures. Hope its a bit longer in length...could go on it over and over.
Good to hear. :)

We were originally told that the addition of a 3rd screen would not affect the existing screens. I wonder if some unforeseen circumstances arose.
