Expansion In The Works For Typhoon Lagoon

It looks like Walt Disney World's Typhoon Lagoon is ramping up for a brand new expansion to the 56 acre tropical water park. While Disney hasn't announced a timeline for the expansion, 2.28 acres of land are being prepped on the north side of the existing site.

The project in the works for the park is a new family raft ride with elevated flume track that is to be located west of the current Crush N Gusher attraction. According to engineering plans on record with the State of Florida, future Typhoon Lagoon Guests can look forward to several features to be put in during the expansion that include "construction of new guest areas, including a water feature. Sidewalks and landscaped areas will be provided."

While the current summer season is almost surely too soon, there is a possibility that summer 2017 will see the expansion's debut. Stay tuned for more information to come!
