Great Ways to Celebrate Father’s Day at Walt Disney World

Father's Day is less than a week away and we can't think of a better place to celebrate Dad than at the Walt Disney World Resort.

To help you plan that special day for dad, we've come up with a list of fun things to do for Father's Day at Walt Disney World. We have ideas for thrill seekers, golfers, and even for a more relaxing day for dad.

1. We can't talk about Father's Day at Disney without mention the Car Masters Weekend at Downtown Disney. This year's event features more than 100 classic, muscle, and exotic vehicles at the Downtown Disney Car Show Presented by Meguiar's. And Cars fans will get a chance to see the films at the AMC Downtown Disney 24 theaters.

2. If dad prefers a more laid-back Father's Day how about a round of golf at one of Disney's famous courses? You can choose from Disney's Lake Buena Vista Golf Course, Disney's Magnolia Golf Course or Disney's Palm Golf Course for a magical 18 holes of golf. Or, if the whole family wants a 9-hole round, consider Disney's Oak Trail Course. Reservations can be made by calling 407-WDW-GOLF.

3. Maybe Dad is a huge race fan, so you could think about treating him to a few laps around the Walt Disney World Speedway. Home to the Richard Petty Driving Experience, the Speedway offers guests a chance to drive a real NASCAR vehicle. The Rookie Experience includes 8 laps around the track and costs $449, and the Experience of a Lifetime includes 30 laps around the track for $1,299.

4. Perhaps a day on the water is what Dad really wants, and if that's the case check out the water sport options at Disney. Many of the Disney hotels offer a guided fishing tour on Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon, Village Lake, or Crescent Lake. The fishing tours include an experienced guide, rod and reel, and bait. For reservations call 407-WDW-BASS. You can also choose from parasailing or waterskiing if that's more dad's style.

5. If you're visiting the parks on Father's Day, stop by Disney's Hollywood Studios for two adrenaline-filled shows: the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and Lights! Motors! Action Extreme Stunt Show. Of course there's a lot more to do at the Studios, but these two shows are perfect for dad!

6. Another fun way to visit the parks is a "ride-all-the-coasters-in-a-day" challenge for you and your dad. Take the plunge on Expedition Everest, channel your inner rock star on Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, and try out the new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at the Magic Kingdom. Now that would be an exciting day.

7. Or maybe dad wants to design his own coaster, and if that's the case you could spend the day at Disney Quest Indoor Interactive Theme Park at Downtown Disney. Here you and dad can take a Virtual Jungle Cruise, design your own coaster at CyberSpace Mountain, visit the Animation Academy, and even play classic video games.

8. While you're visiting Downtown Disney check out Characters in Flight and take dad on a hot air balloon ride that gives him a bird's eye view of Walt Disney World. Or you can stop by Splitsville Luxury Lanes for some bowling and great food. And don't forget, during Father's Day weekend, RIDEMAKERZ is having a "build one ride and build another ride for free" event!

Of course you can always treat dad to a fun family day at the theme parks complete with a special meal to celebrate how awesome he is. Or maybe a day at one of the water parks would be dad's idea of a perfect day. Whatever you choose to do it's sure to be magical.

There are so many ways to celebrate dad at Walt Disney World. How would you spend Father's Day at Disney? Leave us a comment and let us know.
