Haute Couture from Harrods and Disney

The November 2012 Harrods Magazine released an inspired "Once Upon a Dream" photo spread of elegant high fashion designer gowns inspired by the most classic Disney Princesses. This flight into fantasy included designers such as Versace, Valentino and Elie Saab to name just a few. The stunning gowns accented with jewels by Chopard are part of a posh Christmas window display.

Along with the holiday windows an inspired photo shoot perfected the fantasy for the modern would be Princess. With a price tag that it may take the palace coffers to cover, it's unlikely many will be made and that's the world of Haute Couture. The video below shares the dream and vision for us mere mortals who buy off the rack.

The designers involved in the project produced romantic designs with some, such as Valentino, staying fairly true to the origin gowns. Valentino's Belle may be my favorite of the Ten stunning gowns. It is an fantasy-like confection in silk chiffon with sheer magic and layers of "exquisite pleats" that would be stunning on any red carpet, or perhaps out on the town for New Years Eve.

Overall I think that the creative collaborations between designers and the set producers is magical success and transports the viewer to a world that exists only once upon a dream. These stunning dresses weren't the only way Disney and Harrods collaborated over the holiday season though.
