Holiday Fun at Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground Resort

Snow-birds know that there's no place like home for the holidays - especially if you make your winter home at Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground Resort! This resort really comes alive at the holidays because guests have a tendency to bring the fun right back to the campground with them. The woodsy environment, and the fresh smell of woodsmoke simply puts a smile on my face when there's a chill in the air. This classic Disney resort packs a big punch when it comes to holiday travel.

Holiday "Sleigh" Rides

There's nothing quite as romantic as snuggling with the one you love on a one horse open "sleigh" traveling through Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground Resort. To make it even better - seasonal decorations and stories from the driver make the ride a holiday treat! Reservations are highly recommended, and pricing starts around $64 for a 25 minute jaunt.

Fantastic Guest Christmas Displays

Sometimes Disney guests just can't wait to be part of the action, and at Fort Wilderness the holidays brings it all together. During the winter holiday season, many camp ground guests deck out their tents and trailers in holiday lights and garlands creating displays that would make Santa proud. Check out this google gallery of some holiday decorations from last year!

Holiday Golf Cart Parade

Let's not forget " there's a golf cart parade! You can trick out your cart and join in the fun of a holiday parade " lights, music, and candy tossing fun make the holiday golf cart parade just another fun reason that Ft. Wilderness is the place to be for the holidays. Check out last year's parade in this fun video from our friends over at AllEars.net.

But those things barely scratch the surface of reasons that there are to stay at Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground Resort. I didn't even mention the canoeing, the trail's end buffet, Hoop-Dee-Doo, horseback riding, family cabins, campfire sing-a-long, or Segway tours! With boat access to the Magic Kingdom it's hard to beat the location and some campsite loops even allow pets. Over all this is one amazing place to stay.

We stayed in the cabins the first week of December last year. Rent a golf cart and drive through the whole campground at night to see the lights. There is no place like Disney World at the Christmas Holidays!!

Renting a golf cart is my absolute favorite part of staying at Fort Wilderness. I know that it's a small thing, but they are so much fun to zip around in!
