As Downtown Disney continues its transformation to Disney Springs, another new restaurant is set to open next week. Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar, located at The Landing, is opening on September 22 just in time for the Epcot Food and Wine Festival crowds.
As with most Disney restaurants, Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar comes with its own backstory. As the story goes, Jock Lindsey happened to fly over Florida in 1938 looking for the Fountain of Youth and noticed the town of Disney Springs. He decided to build a home on the water and ended up entertaining his friends from the Society of Explorers and Adventurers in the hangar.
Jock was also the pilot for Indiana Jones and had a pet snake named Reggie. Word on the street is that Reggie the snake will play a pivotal role at Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar.
The menu at Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar will feature tapas-style plates including Pretzels with house-made mustard and cheese fondue, Dr. Elsa's She-Devil Eggs, "Good" Dates stuffed with goat cheese, and Rolling Boulder Sliders.
Specialty drinks will include The Aviator's Flight, The Scottish Professor, Anything Goes, The Fountain of Youth featuring Florida vodkas, and Reggie's Revenge.
