Pandora News Round-up: Disney Dedicates Pandora, New Pandora-Themed Wilderness Explorer Badges, and More

Pandora - The World of Avatar opens Saturday, May 27, and this week Disney held an official dedication ceremony for the new land as part of a media preview event. Disney CEO Bob Iger was joined by Avatar director James Cameron and cast members from the film for the dedication.

When Pandora opens this weekend guests can experience two new attractions - Avatar Flight of Passage and the Na'vi River Journey - and dine at Satu'li Canteen or grab a cold drink at Pongu Pongu.

Guests visiting Pandora also have a chance to earn two new Wilderness Explorer badges that are specific to Pandora. The badges include a Botany badge where explorers can learn about plant adaptations and an Ecology badge where guests learn about "relationship between organisms on Earth and on Pandora."

And finally, if you'd like to gear up before your visit to Pandora, a selection of Pandora-themed merchandise is now available at the Disney Store online. Merchandise includes T-shirts, pins, coffee mugs, hats, and MagicBands.
