Parts of "Very Merry" Comes To Magic Kingdom Now Through New Year's

Looks like Walt Disney World is incoporating some elements from the after-hours, special-ticket-required Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party into its daytime Magic Kingdom schedule now through New Year's. Guests braving the crowds at the Magic Kingdom this year can now catch Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade and "Holiday Wishes," a nighttime fireworks display.

The Christmastime parade will spread its holiday cheer at 3 p.m. daily through December 31, replacing the usual Celebrate a Dream Come True parade. Beginning this Sunday, December 25, guests will have two chances to see the Christmastime parade during the day. In addition, the park will also be running two Main Street Electrical Parades starting on Christmas Day.

The "Holiday Wishes" fireworks display is set to start at 10 p.m. in the Magic Kingdom. For New Year's Eve, an additional fireworks show, "Fantasy in the Sky," is planned for 11:50 p.m. to help bring in 2012. Look for the park to be open from 8 a.m. until midnight on the 30th (Extra Magic Hours from 7 a.m. - 8 a.m. and midnight until 3 a.m.) and 8 a.m. through 2 a.m. on December 31st (Extra Magic Hours from 7 a.m. - 8 a.m.).

Hours, parades and fireworks for the Magic Kingdom return to normal January 1.
