The sponsorship deal between Disney and Siemens is set to end this October according to both companies.

There is no word yet on whether or not Disney is planning to find another sponsor for IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth or for Spaceship Earth, including the post-ride experience.

The official word from Disney, in the form of a statement from the company is that they "appreciate" the collaboration with Siemens "in helping create unforgettable memories for our guests at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort over the last 12 years."

What do you think about the end of this sponsorship and how it will affect IllumiNations and Spaceship Earth? Let us know in a comment.

Hopefully, at D23 we'll hear about a redo of Spaceship Earth. The second half of the ride hasn't been very appealing to me.

Hasn't IlluniNations been going on, well, like forever? I kinda remember this same "kiss goodnight" when the Tapestry of Nations parade occurred, which was in 2000. We're fortunate that we visit WDW regularly, so an update of this nighttime show would be terrific, too.

No doubt Disney will find another sponsor for one or both; maybe AT&T wants to return?

Personally I am completely ready for a new nighttime show. I was never a huge fan of IllumiNations, it's nice and all but I think it is more than time for a new show.

I'm both excited and a little apprehensive for the changes at Epcot, it will be interesting to see what happens.
