Disney CEO Bob Iger Steps Down Effective Immediately

The Board of Directors of The Walt Disney Company announced that effective immediately that Bob Iger has stepped down as Chief Executive Officer. Taking the helm directly will Bob Chapek, who most recently led the theme parks division, will be the new CEO of the Walt Disney Company.

2019 Class of Disney Legends Inducted At D23 Expo

Congratulations to the latest class of Disney Legends honored in a special ceremony today at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. The Disney Legend Award is the highest honor that the Disney Company gives. The award is a 32-year tradition of The Walt Disney Company. Disney Legends Award recipients will also participate in a handprint ceremony where their bronzed prints will be displayed in the Disney Legends Plaza at the Company's Burbank headquarters to inspire future generations.

D23 "Imagining Tomorrow, Today" Pavilion Teases Great Things To Come

D23 Expo has kicked off in Anaheim, California and even before the doors opened to fans exciting news about the future of Disney Parks and Resorts was revealed. A pavilion at Disney's ultimate fan convention entitled "Imagining Tomorrow, Today" shares a peek at what's in development at Disney Parks worldwide. Included in the preview are exhibits featuring new attractions in store for the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Check it out.

The Walt Disney Company Pledges $1 Million to Hurricane Harvey Relief

The Walt Disney Company and its Houston affiliate KTRK have pledged $1 million each to the American Red Cross for its Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in the wake of the devastation and catastrophic flooding in Houston and other areas in Texas. Harvey came ashore last Friday as a category 4 hurricane and has dumped more than 40 inches of rain on Houston and surrounding areas.

New Class of Disney Legends Honored at D23 Expo

The 2017 class of Disney Legends was honored this morning at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. The ceremony was hosted by Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Disney Legends Award. The first recipient was Fred MacMurray in 1987.

Siemens to End Sponsorship Deal with the Walt Disney Company

The rumors are true. Siemens, the sponsor of several attractions at Walt Disney World including IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth and Spaceship Earth, is ending its sponsorship deal with the company after more than a decade.

As a fan it's hard to hear because the cast members are a major component in what creates Disney Parks magic. Nine months into the COVID-19 pandemic, health and safety concerns continue to effect travel around the world and Disney struggles to balance business and safety while providing a quality vacation experience.
