The Studio Backlot Tour at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Closing Permanently on September 27

More changes are coming to another long-time attraction at the Walt Disney World Resort.

This time the change is happening at Disney's Hollywood Studios as the Studio Backlot Tour is closing for good on September 27.

Rumors were starting to swirl in recent weeks about the possible closing of the attraction, but Disney confirmed the news last week saying only that the Backlot Tour is closing to make way for new development.

Epcot Food and Wine Late Nights Live Event Cut Back to One Night Per Week

One of the new special events for this year's Epcot Food and Wine Festival has already gone through a schedule change.

The nighttime party, Epcot Food and Wine Late Nights Live, was originally scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday nights during the Festival, but is now only available on Thursday nights.

The three-hour street party takes place every Thursday evening beginning at 9:45 p.m. and it lasts until 1 a.m. The party is located between the United Kingdom Pavilion and World Showcase Plaza.

‘Frozen’ Attraction Set to Replace Maelstrom in Epcot’s Norway Pavilion

After several months of rumors and speculation, the news is official: a Frozen attraction is being built to replace Maelstrom in Epcot's Norway Pavilion.

Disney Parks made the official announcement this afternoon. Construction is underway on the new Frozen attraction that will takes guests to Arendelle where they'll be surrounded by the music from the film.

Special Treats Appearing in the Magic Kingdom for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Guests at this year's Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party can indulge their sweet tooth on more than just candy.

Dining locations around the park will be serving up spooky sweet treats created just for the Halloween parties.

The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor is serving up handmade ice cream cookie sandwiches created with festive Halloween cookies and hand scooped ice cream. The Main Street Bakery will be tempting guests with a Candy Corn Cupcake and a Mummy cupcake, while Gaston's Tavern is offering a Ghost Cupcake.

Jungle Cruise to be Transformed into the Jingle Cruise for the Holidays

The Magic Kingdom's Jungle Cruise is once again getting a holiday makeover.

Last year marked the first time the popular attraction went through a holiday transformation. This year, starting in November, the Jungle Cruise will become the "Jingle Cruise" for the winter holiday season.

The Jungle Cruise boats will be renamed with holiday-themed names, the queue and the boathouse will be transformed with holiday decorations, and the Skipper's jokes will take on a holiday theme as well.

Special Commemorative Merchandise Items Released for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

If you have plans to attend this year's Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom don't forget to check out the commemorative merchandise.

Guests at the party can purchase a limited-edition MagicBand that features the Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party logo. This MagicBand has an edition size of 5,000 bands and it retails for $29.95. The MagicBand must be linked at the time of purchase using a theme park admission, Memory Maker card, or another active MagicBand.

Magic Kingdom’s ‘Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It!’ Street Party to be Updated this Fall

Walt Disney World is updating the Magic Kingdom's 'Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It!' Street Party.

Starting this fall the street party is getting a new name in addition to several new characters including Stitch and Phineas and Ferb. Once the updates have been made it will be known as the 'Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It!' Street Party.

The updated procession will still begin on Main Street U.S.A. and will make its way to Cinderella Castle. The emcee, stilt walkers, and characters will still be part of the new program.

Four Seasons Orlando Opens at the Walt Disney World Resort

The newest luxury hotel at the Walt Disney World Resort is now open.

The Four Seasons Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort opened its doors on August 3 offering guests a luxury stay with the benefits of staying "on property" minus any reference to the top Mouse.

More Details Released for the ‘Villains Unleashed’ Event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

In a just a few weeks the Disney villains are descending upon Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney has released more spooky details.

More than 50 Disney villains are scheduled to attend Villains Unleashed on August 23, with Hades, Megara, and Pain and Panic serving as hosts.

After kicking things off at 8 p.m. the Hercules villains will be joined on stage by the Underworld Dancers, DJ Igg Nite, and other villains including the Queen of Hearts, the Sheriff of Nottingham, the Big Bad Wolf, and Captain Hook.

Disney Parks and Resorts Salutes Military Personnel with Special Rates on Rooms and Tickets Through 2015

Disney Parks has once again extended its Armed Forces Military Salute which gives active and retired U.S. military personnel special rates on theme park tickets and accommodations.

At the Walt Disney World Resort military personnel (including active and retired members of the U.S. Coast Guard, National Guard, and reservists) or their spouses can purchases the following theme park tickets from August 25 2014 through September 30, 2015:

  • Disney 4-day Military Promotional tickets with a park hopper option for $177 each plus tax
