Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue Celebrated 40th Anniversary this Month

The Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue is one of the longest-running dinner shows in America, and it recently celebrated its 40th anniversary.

The show got its start in the summer of 1974 as part of the Disney World Fine Arts College Workshop program. After a summer of performances Walt Disney World decided to hire a permanent cast and the show opened on September 5, 1974.

Disney to date has seemed fairly tight-lipped about what's in store to celebrate 40 years of Walt Disney World. Recently, though, some of the big day's plans have emerged and give guests an idea of what to expect on October 1 at the Magic Kingdom.

First off, a special 40th anniversary presentation will start at 10 a.m. at the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage. Mum's still the word on the presentation's details, but it's said that many guests have been planning for an early trip to the MK that day.

Main Street Gallery to Host the Artist SHAG

To help celebrate its 40th anniversary in style, Walt Disney World has teamed up with artists for some commemorative, magical and unique artwork. SHAG is one of those artists who has created a signature piece for Disney that captures the essence of Disney's opening back in 1971.
