Disney's Animal Kingdom and Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge were recently granted re-accreditation by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Only those zoos and aquariums that meet the highest standards of animal care and management will be accredited.

Staggs was the Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and will continue to lead the Parks and Resorts division while also working in his new role. A successor is expected to be named to take over the Parks and Resorts division at a later date.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Welcomes Two Baby Gorillas

For the second time in a month, a baby gorilla was born at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

The first gorilla was born August 7 to mom Azizi and dad Gino, and the second gorilla was born September 3 to Kashata and Gino. Both gorillas are male.

The lowland gorilla family lives on the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail and also includes an adult female named Benga, and a four-year-old female named Lilly who was born to Kashata.
