Cupcake Update

Usually, you don't think of "cupcakes" and "news" in the same sentence. But when there are two new cupcakes to be had at Walt Disney World, that means there are two reasons to do a news blurb on the sweet treats.

Art of Animation Resort: Topped Out

Construction may be slow going at Downtown Disney, but it is full speed ahead at Disney's Art of Animation Resort. This past week, the resort was the site of a "topping out" ceremony - an important step in its construction.

The topping out ceremony is steeped in history and takes place when steel is placed in a building's highest part of the frame. An evergreen tree is hoisted to the top of the frame for good luck and is a tradition that dates back to the Vikings era.
