More Savannah Space Planned For Kilimanjaro Safaris

Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney's Animal Kingdom is slated to get some enhancements and updates this spring to give guests even more opportunities to spy the park's wildlife, especially zebra.

Changes expected to be made are the removal of the Audio Animatronics "Little Red" elephant which is found near the end of the safari. This will make way for additional savannah area as well as a new watering hole.

Disney's Art of Animation Resort Opening First Phase in May

It's good news for Disney Resort enthusiasts! Earlier this week, Disney Imagineers made the announcement that the newest resort, Disney's Art of Animation, is expected to open in phases beginning May 31, 2012.

Animal Kingdom Will Be Home For Future AVATAR Project

At a press conference yesterday, Bob Iger and Tom Staggs announced that Disney and the folks that brought you AVATAR have formed a "long-term creative partnership" that will include bringing the movie's fantasy world to Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Profile of an Imagineer: Roger Broggie Jr.

Roger Broggie Jr. was the son of Walt Disney's original Imagineer. As a young boy of 11 he began working for the man he called "Uncle Walt" when he, and his brother Michael, tended Disney's backyard railway the Carolwood Pacific. He spent his teen years in the brand new Disneyland, watching it evolve, take shape, and giving a kid stamp of approval.

The Haunted Mansion: Legend of the Bride's Ring

Once upon a time in Liberty Square there was a turnstile located at the exit of the Haunted Mansion. When the turnstile was removed the portion that anchored it to the ground still remained. A little piece of sawed off pipe that scared the ground of the exit, a scar that looked vaguely like a ring. Time went by and soon fans created a story to go along with the scar, and the rumor spread that it was the ring of the bride from the ride's attic.

Epcot's China Pavilion

China is may be one of the most beautiful stops on a tour around World Showcase. Guests can often meet Mulan and Mushu near the large Chinese Gate that beckons them further into the pavilion. The tranquil garden courtyard sits in a quiet beauty and guests are drawn through it to the magnificent three-tiered Hall of Prayer.

Guardian of Forbidden Mountain

Animal Kingdom is home to the tallest Mountain Range in all of Disney Parks, it's snow-capped peaks reminiscent of the Himalayas. The star of the show, is not Mount Everest as the name can suggest, that can be seen as a peak in the distance to the far right. This family thrill ride is all about a trip through the formidable, but fictional, Forbidden Mountain.

The creative of genius of Marc Davis created some of the most memorable Disney animated characters. Working as an animator, an artist, and an Imagineer Davis helped Walt Disney bring countless Disney characters to life on screen and was one of the creative forces behind Disneyland.
