Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Welcome New Disney Ambassadors

For 50 years the Disney Ambassador Program has been a tradition within the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.

The first Disney Ambassador, Julie Reihm Casaletto, was hand-picked by Walt Disney and introduced during the 10th anniversary of Disneyland. The ambassadors represent the theme parks in their community and around the world, in addition to hosting VIP guests.

Recently the 2015-2016 Disney Ambassadors were announced at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

Walt Disney World Adding Fall Protection Safety Railings on Rooftops around the Resort

If you've visited any of the theme parks at the Walt Disney World Resort you many have noticed temporary safety railings atop many of the buildings.

According to a post at WDW News Today, Disney has started installing these temporary safety railings in an effort to meet OSHA safety regulations.

While there is no word yet on whether or not the temporary railings will be replaced with permanent fall protection railings, it is likely that Disney will at least keep the temporary railings up to satisfy OSHA regulations.

Originally created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Walt's birth, it opened on October 1, 2001 as part of Walt Disney World's 100 years of Magic Celebration. A few years ago the attraction's marquee was updated to reflect that D23: The Official Disney Fan Club was now presenting the attraction.

Diane Disney Miller, Walt Disney's Daughter, Passes Away At Age 79

It is with great sadness and heavy heart that we must report the death of Diane Disney Miller, daughter of Walt Disney. She passed away in her Napa, California home on Tuesday, November 19th due to complications from a sudden fall she took in September. Diane Disney Miller was 79 years old.

Saturday's coronation of Merida into the court of 'official" Disney Princesses was a jubilant celebration complete with a visit from my favorite Disney Mom of all, Queen Elinor, who placed the lovely tiara on her daughter Merida's head. Sadly, rumor has it that this would be Queen Elinor's one and only appearance.
