Disney Vacation Club Announces '25 and Beyond Bash' at the Magic Kingdom

Disney Vacation Club is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and part of the celebration includes a '25 and Beyond Bash' at the Magic Kingdom. This event is planned for two nights and is a complimentary event for DVC members.

Summer of 2014 Brings New Magic to Guests at the Walt Disney World Resort

This summer promises to be one for the memory books for guests at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Summer officially kicks off at Disney on May 23 with the bi-coastal Rock Your Disney Side: 24 Hours party at the Magic Kingdom, Disneyland, and Disney California Adventure. This 24-hour party starts at 6 a.m. on May 23 and ends at 6 a.m. May 24 local time.

Queue for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train to Feature Interactive Gem Sorting Station

Guests waiting in line for the new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train won't have a chance to be bored.

Disney has announced that the ride will feature an interactive queue to keep guests entertained while they wait.

The first interactive opportunity is a gemstone sorting station located at a 15-foot digital sluice box. Guests will have the chance to sort jewels into different trays, matching the jewels by color and shape.

The 'Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade' Debuts at the Magic Kingdom

After months of anticipation the 'Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade' debuted at the Magic Kingdom on March 9.

The parade is a celebration of Fantasyland and features nearly 100 performers and Disney characters in addition nine floats that will travel down Main Street U.S.A. to an all-new soundtrack composed by Mark Hammond " who is known for his work on World of Color of Disney California Adventure

Festival of Fantasy Parade Debuts March 9 at the Magic Kingdom with Elaborate Costumes and Floats

When the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade debuts at the Magic Kingdom on March 9, guests will have a chance to see some of the most elaborate parade costumes ever created by Disney.

The parade is a celebration of Fantasyland, and is the first in a new generation of Disney parades and includes new technology, a new musical score, and floats that are three stories tall.

Steampunk-Inspired Maleficent Float to Join the Magic Kingdom’s ‘Festival of Fantasy Parade’

There are still a couple of months until the 'Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade' debuts at the Magic Kingdom, and Disney recently announced a new float for the parade.

The float will represent Sleeping Beauty's Maleficent as a 35-foot-long, 26-foot high Steampunk-inspired dragon.

The Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade is celebration of Fantasyland and each float will be created so that it appears as though the characters featured on the floats had a hand in creating them.

New Food Choices Make It Easy to Eat Healthy While at the Walt Disney World Resort

Eating at the Disney Parks doesn't always have to mean turkey legs, burgers, pizza, or chicken nuggets. There are now healthy food choices available at each park in the Walt Disney World Resort.

Last week Prince Eric's Village Market opened in New Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom, and guests will find Odwalla lemonade served with a fruit garnish, bottled water, juices, and teas, and snacks including fresh fruit, hummus, and Greek yogurt.

New and Improved Fantasyland Set to Debut December 6

The big news out of Walt Disney World recently is that guests visiting the Magic Kingdom this December will get to see the fruits of the Fantasyland expansion labor. December 6 is the date set for the new Fantasyland's grand opening.

If you have ever wanted to get a guided tour of the Magic Kingdom that includes a scavenger hunt and a few special surprises, then Disney's Family Magic Tour is for you!

I recently had the chance to take this tour with my family and it is definitely something I would recommend for families with young kids (ages 4 to 10 years old).

Minnie and Mickey have been victims of Eminent Domain! This was my first thought upon hearing the announcement that Mickey's Toontown Fair was closing its doors and being leveled to make way for New Fantasyland. On my first visit to Walt Disney World, I was fortunate to visit Mickey's Birthdayland, which opened on June 18, 1988 to celebrate Mickey's 60th birthday.

Previewing The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

The last bit of the New Fantasyland is still under construction at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, but each day fans get a little closer to getting to ride on the "Seven Dwarfs Mine Train." The opening date is set for "later this Spring" but when exactly we still don't know. Walls have been down and a there were even some test riders recently. The rock-work is getting its finishing touches and the top of the mountain planted.

Guests are invited to climb aboard a pirate ship of their very own and with a sprinkle of pixie dust are off on a magical Peter Pan's Flight. The journey begins in the Darling Family nursery with siblings Wendy, Michael, and John. Guests hear the impish Peter encouraging them to leave their mundane cares behind - "Come on, everybody! Here we go!"

Get Your Motor Runnin' On The Tomorrowland Speedway

Sitting on a sprawling patch of land between Tomorowland and Fantasyland sits the Tomorrowland Speedway. Perhaps it occupies this space because so many kids fantasize about the day they will finally get their drivers license in a time that's so far into the future to them. These would be speed demons queue in line to race a breathtaking 7 miles an hour around the 0.4 mile track in a jaunty and unique gas powered racer.
