Expansions Ahead for Two of Walt Disney World's Most Popular Attractions

Yesterday the Disney Parks Blog confirmed rumors that have been swirling for months, and announced updates and expansions for two of the most popular attractions in the Disney Parks!

Walt Disney World Guests Can Add Additional FastPass+ Selections Thanks to System Upgrade

Guests at the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks now have the ability to add additional FastPass+ entitlements once they have used their first three.

Park hopping with the FastPass+ system is also available.

These changes were made in response to guest suggestions made during the test phase of the FastPass+ system.

The "original" FastPass+ system allowed guests to have just three FastPass+ entitlements per day, and only at one park.

MyMagic+ Continuing to Transform Walt Disney World Experience for Guests

The Walt Disney World Resort is still in the midst of the "test and adjust" phase of MyMagic+ but guests have been able to take advantage of some changes brought about by MyMagic+.

The MyDisneyExperience.com mobile app and website allows guests to plan their vacation at home and make changes on the go in the parks. The app features itinerary tools and gives guests the ability to scheduled FastPass+ reservations in advance or on the day of their visit.

New FASTPASS Testing To Start Back Up This Fall

You might remember a post back in May mentioning a new FASTPASS trial. That round of testing lasting only about two weeks, and it's looking like the next round of the new FASTPASS trial is coming up soon. Sources are now reporting the new system, known as the NextGen FASTPASS, will be tested in September.

Disney Testing New Fastpass System at Magic Kingdom

Right now at Magic Kingdom, Disney is currently testing out a new way with a guest favorite. Now through May 15, Disney is trialing a new Fastpass system on certain rides and attractions throughout Magic Kingdom.

In the current system, guests obtain Fastpass tickets at the ride or attraction of their choice and return at the time stated upon the ticket to bypass a long wait time. How does the new Fastpass differ? The new system will have guests obtaining Fastpass tickets at home - before they even set foot in the park!

New Entertainment Fastpass To Be Tested At Magic Kingdom

Word out of Walt Disney World has it that the Magic Kingdom will be the spot for a new Fastpass trial this month. During March, Disney will be testing their famous Fastpass system with their nighttime entertainment.

Cast members will distribute the Fastpasses by hand to guests on random days in March between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Guests lucky enough to be a part of the experiment will be able to return to the Castle hub at the time printed on the Fastpass. From there, the cast members will be on hand to help direct guests in order to watch that night's fireworks show or nighttime parade.

Disney To Enforce Ending FASTPASS Times?

The Walt Disney World rumor mill is at it again; this time, there's a rumor out here in cyberspace that says WDW will start requiring guests to use a FASTPASS within the time stated on the pass. Word has it the more strict enforcing of the FASTPASS system will start sometime next month.

Meet Mickey Using FastPass

It's a nice feature to save time on beloved Magic Kingdom favorites like Space Mountain, and now it can be used to skip the line to meet Mickey Mouse. You read that right: guests at the Magic Kingdom can now use FastPass to meet the Mouse himself in his new digs at the Town Squre Theater.

FastPass to see Mickey works the same as for any other attraction: grab a FastPass ticket and come back between the times printed on top of the ticket to jump the front of the line.

Winnie the Pooh Attraction Loses FASTPASS Option Temporarily

Oh Bother. The Winnie the Pooh attraction at Walt Disney World will be temporarily closed to FASTPASS users from September 17 until mid-November due to construction.

The large tree that was a part of "Pooh's Playful Spot" playground has been temporarily relocated to a home at "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh." There are a variety of other signs of construction in the area that may deter some Disney fans. Not to worry, though, the attraction will remain open until October 25th.

Beginning on October 25 the ride will close until November 15th for refurbishments.

Five Things You Don’t Want to Miss When Visiting Epcot

We all have our favorite things to see, eat, and drink at each of the theme parks at the Walt Disney World Resort. We consider these our "must do" attractions or dining destinations and we can't miss them or our trip won't be complete.

And so today, we're going to explore five "can't miss" things at Epcot.

Ride a Viking Ship and Snack on Schoolbread in the Norway Pavilion at Epcot The Norway Pavilion

Ride a Viking Ship and Snack on Schoolbread in the Norway Pavilion at Epcot. The Norway Pavilion takes guests into the heart of Scandanavia as they enter a town square that was designed to resemble the cities of Oslo, Bergen, Alesund, and Setesdahl.

New Disability Access Service Card Program Launching at Disney Parks October 9th, 2013

Last year the Walt Disney World Guest Assistance Card (GAC) program came under fire when it was uncovered that some guests had discovered a way to game the system. An increase in the volume of requests, growing abuse, and some very bad press coverage meant that Disney was finally forced to make changes to the program that offers access to its attractions for guests with a wide range of disabilities both obvious and invisible.

Celebrating 25 Years of Peril and Adventure on Epcot’s Maelstrom

Tucked in the back of the Norway Pavilion is one of the best - and perhaps most underrated - attractions at Epcot. Of course, we're talking about Maelstrom, the high seas flume ride that takes guests through the history of the Land of the Midnight Sun.

Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin

Deep within the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World lies your opportunity to battle evil and save the galaxy. Galactic Hero Buzz Lightyear, from the Disney-Pixar hit Toy Story movies, is recruiting Junior Rangers to protect the universe from Evil Emperor Zurg. Recruits should make their way directly to Tomorrowland to join up, or at least to grab a FastPass.

Take Flight over California on Soarin’ at Epcot's The Land

It's one of those must-do-and-I-will-run-to-get-FastPasses rides. A visit to Epcot is just not complete until you've had a chance to ride at least once. OK, maybe twice. And then there's the fact that guests actually applaud at the end of each flight. Yes, I'm talking about Soarin'.

Living with the Land – An Educational and Entertaining Boat Ride at Epcot

One of the things that I love about Epcot is the opportunity to learn while being entertained - and a great example of this is Living with the Land. This boat ride housed inside The Land, Future World's largest pavilion, takes guests on a relaxing, educational, and entertaining 14 minute boat ride through three diverse ecosystems and the park's Living Laboratories.

Star Wars Weekends Returning to Disney’s Hollywood Studios May 17-June 9

For four weekends each spring, Star Wars fans (and fanatics) converge on Disney's Hollywood Studios for Star Wars Weekends. This year, the intergalactic celebration starts May 17 and continues until June 9.

While the guest list is still a work in progress we can report that Ray Park who starred as the Sith warrior Darth Maul is scheduled to appear during Weekend I and Weekend II, and Warwick Davis who portrayed Ewok Wicket W. Warwick is scheduled for Weekend III and Weekend IV.

Test Track Presented by Chevrolet

Epcot's all a buzz for the re-opening of the brand new Test Track Presented by Chevrolet. The pavilion opened originally with the park, in 1982, as GM's 'World of Motion' and then was redesigned as the thrilling 'GM Test Track' in 1998. Today, after months of closure (renovations began back in April) this Future World staple is back with a fresh coat of paint and a brand new sponsor.

The Original Space Mountain

This space-themed roller coaster, and fan favorite, can be found in all five of Disney's Magic Kingdom-style Parks. All five versions of the attraction have different queues and tracks, but all of them share that famous domed exterior, a space age exterior facade reaching into the sky. After seeing the popularity of the Matterhorn in Disneyland, Walt Disney was convinced that thrill rides had a place in his park and had plans drawn plans drawn up for the Space Mountain attraction.
