D23 Destination D: Attraction Rewind Celebrating Disney Attractions from the Past

If you're a fan of extinct Disney World attractions, the D23 Destination D: Attraction Rewind event is one you don't want to miss.

D23: The Official Disney Fan Club is hosting the event that will honor Disney attractions of years gone by including 'If You Had Wings' and '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea' through stories, vintage videos, and concept art.

The two-day event takes place November 22 and 23 at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Global Sing-Along Planned as Disney Parks Celebrates 50th Anniversary of ‘it’s a small world’

The classic Disney Parks attraction 'it's a small world' is celebrating its 50th anniversary and fans can join in the celebration through a global sing-along.

Disney created the website SmallWorld50.com as a "global hub" of music and harmony where guests can record videos of themselves singing the attraction's theme song. Guests can also create virtual 'it's a small world' dolls to benefit UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund).

Mary Blair Exhibit to Open May 13

Even if you're not familiar with the name Mary Blair, chances are you would recognize some of her work. The artist played a key role in the development of "it's a small world" which remains one of Disney's most-loved attractions. Now, for the first time, her work will be up for display at The Disney Gallery.

The new exhibit, which will start May 13 at the Disneyland-based gallery, will show works by Blair and feature the ride she helped bring to life. Here are a few pictures courtesy of the Disney Parks Blog that give an idea of what the exhibit will showcase.

The Top 10 Relaxing Rides at Walt Disney World

While I love most of the attractions at Walt Disney World, I have a great fondness for what we like to call "chill rides." Basically they're the exact opposite of the thrill rides we talked about last week. I will freely admit that I like the rides where I can sit back, relax, and not have to worry about my roller coaster car suddenly speeding backward down a steep incline. Yeah, chill rides.

Stop by Pinocchio’s Village Haus for a Good Meal and a Great View

Pinocchio's Village Haus at the Magic Kingdom is one of those almost hidden gems at Walt Disney World. We all know it exists, since it does sit right next to it's a small world and is pretty much in the center of Fantasyland. But it seems like it's one of those places that we often walk past but rarely walk in to dine, even though it is consistently good when we do eat there.

The Magic Kingdom's New Fantasyland offers guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort a great new selection of new rides, shops, shows and eateries to spend their times enjoying. The Imagineering team created some truly enchanting environments for guests to enjoy like Storybook Circus and the Enchanted Forest. Mary Blair was a talented artist who is best remembered for her work done for The Walt Disney Company. She was largely responsible for introducing modern art to Walt Disney and his studio, and her impact on his vision is seen in many Disney films and throughout the Disney parks.

Looking Back: It's a Small World

Some people love it and for others it is the bane of their Disney existence. We are talking It's a Small World today, exploring the origins and history of this Disney hallmark.

For those of you who have never ridden It's a Small World, the attraction is an interior boat cruise that features over 300 brightly costumed audio-animatronic dolls in the style of children of the world. There is an It's a Small World attraction at each of the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts worldwide, and Walt ever only referred to it as "the happiest cruise that ever sailed."
