Profits Are Up for The Walt Disney Company

The Walt Disney Company reported its second quarter earnings for the fiscal year 2013, and it was good news for the House of the Mouse. The company reported an overall profit of $1.5 billion, which is up 32 percent from the same period last year.

Merida Set to Become Disney’s 11th Official Princess

On May 11, Merida - the strong-willed red headed princess from Disney/Pixar's Brave " will officially be welcomed into the Disney Princess royal court.

The royal coronation ceremony is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. at Cinderella's Castle at the Magic Kingdom. Other royal guests, including Disney's current princesses are expected to attend the ceremony. Guests at the Magic Kingdom will also be able to witness the coronation.

Limited Time Magic: Week 35

This week at Walt Disney World the Limited Time Magic is celebrates the "Dog Days of Summer" with the final days of a rockin' Tomorrowland party.

Head on over to Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom and move to the groove to the tunes of DJ K-9. Disney pups like Pluto, Bolt and Dug will show you how to shake it. Lilo's "dog" Stitch will crash the party while you enjoy all the fun games, tasty food and refreshing cool zones.

Explore Days Gone By On Tom Sawyer Island

Sitting across the Rivers of America lies what could be one of the most overlooked attractions in the Magic Kingdom, Tom Sawyer Island. It opened in 1973 and has stood the test of time. To get there, guests must take one of four a jaunty rafts named Tom Sawyer, Becky Thatcher, Injun Joe, or Huck Finn. They run from a dock nestled on the riverbank in Frontierland across to the island where on Tom's Landing the ageless adventure begins.

One of Disney's most iconic heroes of 1960's television was Disney Legend Fess Parker with his epic portrayal of Frontiersman Davy Crockett. Perched a-top his head each week was the traditional coonskin cap that was so popular with the fur traders of the 18th Century.

Take Aim at the Frontierland Shootin' Arcade

It wouldn't be the Wild West without a chance to try your hand at a little shootin'. At the Magic Kingdom's Frontierland Shootin' Arcade you can take aim at nearly 100 targets! The arcade is set back in a small courtyard, located inside an open fronted log cabin. The fun, interactive targets evoke the Boot Hill landscape in Tombstone, Arizona. Each target lights up, makes a sound, spins around, and triggers all sorts of action when successfully hit.
