40th Birthday Celebration

Hello! I'm new to this forum. I love all things Disney and have been to Disney World several times over the years. We are planning a trip to Disney World this coming October for myself, my boyfriend and his two daughters - they will be 13 & 9. It will be the first trip to Disney for the girls. While we are there, we will be going to Mickey's Halloween party to celebrate the Birthday of the 13 year old. I just realized we will also be there over my boyfriend's 40th Birthday. While we have something fun already planned for her, I would love to surprise my boyfriend for his special day. We are planning on going to Hollywood Studios that day since he loves Star Wars. Is there anything fun and different at that park that I could arrange for a surprise? I appreciate any suggestions or ideas Smile

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Congrats on your next trip in October! We are gonna be there then too, love going that time of year.

Hmm... What to do that's special in HS. I'm not actually sure. Hollywood brown Derby is a lovely meal, and you could arrange a special cake.

Thanks Robyn! Brown Derby is a great idea. Have you ever done one of the Wishes Firework cruises? I know so much depends on how late the parks are open that night. He loves Fantasmic so he will want to do that, but maybe we would have time to do something later that night. I'm hoping they extend the Symphony in the Sky fireworks into October at HS.

I hope so, too, Megan! Unfortunately, it's going to be tough to pin anything down right now for fall at DHS since everything at that park is subject to change as Disney begins construction on Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land. I agree with Robyn that Brown Derby would be a nice place to go that should be reasonably safe from the construction. I would keep an eye out in case Star Wars character dining returns. Since Symphony in the Stars was brought out from Star Wars weekends as an everyday fireworks show (at least temporarily), maybe SW character dining will be available at some point as well.

Club Villain opened at DHS over the weekend and the $99pp price tag is steep, but it does include dinner and I read a very favorable review of it this morning. You may want to find an alternate activity for the girls. The review that I read says that while kids are welcome, it's more of an adult-oriented event and most kids would probably not enjoy it. It's not confirmed to be extended past the end of February, but if it's successful, it might be there in the fall. At the moment, it's offered on Saturday nights only.

Do you happen to have any friends locally or who happen to be traveling at the same time who could turn up at the park (or a resort dinner venue) unexpectedly? I always think it's cool when other people turn up especially to see you and celebrate your special occasion.

I have done a wishes cruise and I LOVED it! I'm not sure you would get there in time without a rush after fantasmic though.
