4th of July and Disneyland

My aunt and cousins want to go to Disneyland very badly.
With her work schedule the only weekend she has available is July 4th.
This will be my cousins first time ever, is it worth going? Is it going to be
so incredibly crowded that they won't have fun? I have never been during this time so
suggestions and tips would be greatly appreciated.

I can't say that I've been to Disneyland on the 4th of July. But at Walt Disney World, it is one of two times of the year you can pretty much be guaranteed that the Magic Kingdom will reach capacity by noon. I would imagine similar crowd levels at Disneyland.

Will it be so crowded that they won't have fun? Well that kind of depends on them. I would imagine that they will only get the chance to ride a handful of attractions due to long lines, they should plan on using the fastpass and single rider lines to make the most of their time. California Adventure may be less crowded than Disneyland Park. They should make sure to have dining reservations ahead of time so that they don't have to fight the crowds for food or a table.

Overall I always believe that any Disney is better than no Disney at all - if they plan on taking it slow and not being able to do much maybe they will see and experience enough to wet their whistle for another trip later!

I am surprising DH with a visit there the following week. The crowd calendars are showing average of 8 so I'm guessing you all the way to 10. But what better place to celebrate could you ask for. I think disney does the holidays well so set expectations for it to be hammered and enjoy all the little surprises. You can always find a little magic at Disney.
