Animal Kingdom? can you enjoy all the critters in one day?

I muchlove LOVE critters. Cats, snakes, squirrels, Thomsons gazelles... Not so fond of thrill rides. I plan on seeing/doing everything at AK that has critters. Also, I tend to linger at such things. (Ask my wife about the Toronto zoo!) Is one day going to be enough?

Most people consider AK a half day park so yes a full day will be plenty if you arnt planning on doing many rides.

I agree - you should be able to see all in 1 full day.

Yes, I absolutely think you can do AK in 1 day. Though the Park itself is larger than the others it's mainly because the animals need more space than a ride does. Just make a plan for what you want to see before you get there. I find it easy to get lost in AK.

I agree that one full day is enough to enjoy everything at AK for most people. Although, it depends on when you are going because AK usually has the shortest days. There are some days they are only open 9-5. If you love animals that much, you may actually want to revisit during your trip. The Kilimanjaro Safaris and Finding Nemo the Musical, at AK are two of my favorite things to do at all 4 of the Disney parks! I could do those two things over and over again in the same visit yay

The safari sounds awesome! I also like the idea of the private morning safari option .

How long are you visiting WDW? yes I agree one day is enough, but if you plan on really lingering consider going for another morning if you'll be down there for a little while.

I really like the Kilimanjaro safari, never have done the private morning one....kids are still too young. We always like Flights of Wonder bird show too.

If we go straight to AK after checking in at the resort we'd be able to have a good look around before returning the next day. We plan on taking as early a flight as possible so hopefully we be at the resort before 1pm.

You can definitely do AK in one day even with lingering at the animals, especially if you aren't too worried about the other attractions. The only thing I would worry about slowing you down is lines at EE, It's Tough to Be a Bug, etc. If you're not upset about skipping those if need be, you will have plenty of time to see all the animals in one day.

I love animals too and I'd say 1 and a half days. When we went we didn't do thrill rides but did the safari twice and by the time you line up and wait for the musicals and parades. And we missed the flight of wonder show because we were doing other things and the last show I think was around the time of the parade. And we had about 45 mins left before the park closed to check out the animals in their enclosures at the front of the park, but by this stage my feet were way too sore and tired so I gave up didn't worry about it. So if we went back for another few hours on another day we could have got everything done.

How long are you staying? When planning a trip, I usually allot an "empty" day where basically we have dinner at Epcot (make reservations ASAP BTW) and then depending on how long I'm staying, allot 1-3 days per park. For my nine day trip, we've got one planned AK day and 3 "empty" days, so we'll go at least twice to Animal Kingdom.

My point it, see how much you get done in one day and then allot an "empty day" to see which park you want to visit then.

Have fun!

As everyone else has said, 1 day is enough. I'm like you I love animals and don't do the major rides at AK, we manage the AK in around 5 hours, but tbh I could go back day after day just to watch the animals! muchlove

Well..You can look at the critters. Can't do much else with them if that's what you mean.

I'm gonna vote with the folks who say 1 1/2 to 2 days, since you love love love the animals and like to spend a lot of time with them. I'm betting you may want to see some of the animal-related shows, too, like Flights of Wonder. I'd give the other shows a shot, too, though...they're so great! Enjoy!
