Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village vs Jambo House

In 2 months and 27 days (who's counting? laugh ), we are doing a split stay - 4 nights at Bay Lake Tower (home resort) and then 3 nights at Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village. I'd love feedback on which is better - as in roomier, between AKLKV and AKLJH? There are 9 of us going (5 adults and 4 children) and we have a dedicated 2 bedroom savanna view.

In June of 2011, CJ and I stayed in Jambo House - but it was just the 5 of us and we were in a one bedroom with a pool view. We did swim at Kidani (JH pool closed - think someone had an 'accident' in the water eek )

Those going are: me and CJ and our 3 kids - been to WDW multiple times Smile Cj's mom - been to WDW but never AKL. My 2 BFFs - one has been to WDW but never stayed at a Deluxe resort and actually requested AKL and my other BFF hasn't been to WDW since the 1970s! AND...the best part...my nephew, who is 11 and has NEVER even been to an amusement park, let alone WDW~!! I really want to give them all a magical experience mickey

Thank you all!!!! xoxo

I've stayed in a DVC Savanna View at both Jambo House and Kidani Village. Hands down I prefer Kidani Village for a Savanna View room and for kids the Kidani pool is much more fun.

At Jambo House all the DVC Rooms are on the 5th and 6th Floor, this puts them above the tree line, so when you look off of your balcony, the first thing that you see is tree tops. At Kidani Village, you can get a lower floor which means a much better view of the animals. Be sure to have them note on your reservation that you would prefer to be on the 2nd or 3rd floor.

When I don't book a savanna view, I prefer Jambo House, but if it's all about the view you want a lower level Kindani room.

I've never stayed at AKL (it's on my Disney Bucket List!) but read this Kidani vs. Jambo House post recently, has some reader insights too!

I've never stayed at kidani, but we love Jambo. Still... After three years of it, as soon as I walk in... Shoot... Even as when the bus pulls up I'm just in awe over the place... Then walking in... Wow. But as I've said... I've never stayed at kidani, but I enjoy being on the 5th level. It's easier to see the distance.

I love the pool view at Jambo House! Uzima Springs is by far one of my favorite WDW pools.
