I'd just focus on trying to find things you enjoy about taking the slow route. I'm largely a go-go-go-er too with certain things, but I find my inner sloth in WDW. I pretty much want to get certain meals in and everything else is just gravy. Whatever happens is cool. It's nice to relax sometimes.

I always think that I might miss out on something and run from one thing to another (missing everything along the way). I rode to California and back on motorcycle at 130 MPH. Took all my photos from the seat of my bike.

Jude is much more relaxed than I am yet as I've gotten older I do enjoy just relaxing from time to time and she is fun to be with when I do. She is good at letting me run and do my thing but is always there when I want her.

Ah yes. Compromise. Angel

Disney World is definitely one of those "state of mind" places. I enjoy it so much more when I have my head in the "relaxed" mode rather than the "if I don't see everything it will have been a waste of money" mode mickey

You can go fulfill all your rushing needs while she's at the spa!

That's actually a really interesting idea. Sadly they can't handle the luggage, but once you're there a cycle would be a great way to get around.

That is not a bad idea about the bike rental. Should be able to rent one in Orlando. Actually I have friends with bikes that live in the area and I could borrow a bike if I wanted.

Not sure if I want to spend the time getting one just for a ride. Something to think about though.

Take a day and go to the beach! (Couple hours on the road, though...)

She has and does like to ride. We even talked about getting a bike in the future.

That's great. And I agree that a bike would be fun. If you guys haven't ever ridden together, that idea of renting a bike for a couple of your disney world days might be interesting. Another experience to share.

My Brother is having a friend trailer his bike to Florida and My dad (70 years old) rode to Florida last fall and flew home with my mom after visiting my sister who lives in the Daytona area. Anyway, they are both flying to Florida after my wedding and riding back to Maine together on their bikes.

They will take a week and ride the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive. I've done that ride and it is great on a bike.

We are not renting a bike while there. With only a week and other things we want to do we will save that for another time. I may try to get in some golf. Maybe while she is at the spa. I'm an average golfer (20 handicap)and it would be fun to play at least once.

So is your family hanging out with you during your honeymoon or just in Florida too?

NO! They at not! No my dad and brother will fly into Sanford airport and my sister will pick them up and they will go north to her place and then start for home on bikes. We are flying into Orlando a few days before them and have no plans to hook-up.

My sister and brother in-law will maybe come down to Disney and have dinner one night since they are not flying up for the wedding. Not sure about that and since they were just in Maine for a visit we may not even do that.

We will go it alone on this trip.

Good for you. You probably need it after such a big day.

Did you tell us, John, where you're getting married?

Bucksport, Maine is where we are getting married. We leave from there to Bangor 30 min north, spend the night at the airport and fly to Disney the next morning. Could not get a flight out that night. We do live in Maine. Not much for optios for flights.

i think it's better to leave in the morning anyway. that's a busy day to begin with, why not give yourself some breathing room?

probably still cold enough there that you're anxious to change climates.

We are both ready. I enjoy winter and winter sports. She stays indoors most of the winter. She is not much for cold weather outings. She will love the warmth of Florida. I can do without heat above 80 but we should have a great time. Warm enough to play in the water and if it rains it will be warm.

We have about 2 feet of snow on front lawn and I was snowmobiling this past weekend from my yard. They will have snow in northern Maine until the middle of April or even May.

It may be cold, but you can't beat dinner at the Maine Diner in Wells. That's worth the freezing temps.

I like Maine. You get a little of everything. Wells Diner - Can't beat it.

I actually have a (possibly delusional) notion that it would be fun to rent a beach house in Maine during the winter. Am I insane?

Many people go to camp to ice fish in the winter. Along the ocean the ice is broken and fragmented and there is no beach to see yet it could be relaxing.

The lakes look like large fields as the snow covers the ice.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a snow-covered beach. I've seen pictures of Maine and the beaches look lovely, but I'm having a hard time visualizing them covered in snow.

Ok, That is EXACTLY why I would NOT want to live anywhere like Maine or anywhere else where it gets that cold and has a beach. The image just fries my mind. It's like the ultimate look but don't touch.

As an extra bonus, I believe salt water can get colder without freezing than regular water!

You'd rather just not have the beach at all eh?

here in landlocked Indy 500 land, I only think of a beach as part of a warm vacation, that's the only time I ever see one. Winter beach is like a tease to me.

I've never really lived near the ocean either. It would be kind of a drag to get there and see snow. Have you ever lived anywhere else?
