Yep we are getting excited now that it has been confirmed Smile now we are trying to decide to do it in April or go during Star Wars weekend.... Lol

I say go!
I have family in NY and drive from SC with my family on a semi-regular basis. We just did it this Christmas break. It is a 13 hour trip, same time to drive to WDW. I have done WDW the same way other years. If you have 5 days including your travel you will be fine. Just remember that on your last day of the trip. Also, the kids will probably sleep on the way home, so at least they will be rested.
