Art of Animation Themes: Which one for you?

As the Art of Animation continues to roll out it's opening, it's been interesting to see how they're doing each wing's theme. Which wing do you think that you would like to stay in the most?

Finding Nemo
Cars
Lion King
Little Mermaid

Does it make a difference to you if you have to stay in a family suite? The Little Mermaid wing is the only one that will have standard guest rooms. Do you think that they should have put a few standard rooms in each wing? Let me know!

I think it would have been nice to have a small section of standard rooms in each theme area. We actually thought about staying at AoA in October, but the Little Mermaid area is the furthest from everything. That's a lot of walking at the end of the day. Plus, DH really didn't want to stay in what he termed "a five year old girl's room". laugh

If we had been able to choose the Lion King area and not have to upgrade to a suite to do it, we might have given it a try.

Ugh, I hadn't even thought to look at a resort map to find out where in the resort our room would be in October.

Id love to be in the Lion King one... but if our daughter was with it... it would have to be The Little Mermaid. She LOVES Ariel. The distance would stink... but would be worth it.

Little Mermaid for sure! Lion King would be fun too, but Little Mermaid is definitely my favorite!

I would vote Cars, I love that movie. One of my all-time favorites (not a fan of Cars 2 though). Lion King would be next on my list. Another great movie with so many underlying messages.

My daughter too! Ariel is her favorite with Merida a close second. Her fave princesses are redheads, probably because her Mom is.......hee hee. My son would be all over the CARS section. We'd definately have to do half and half.

Yeah I definitely think they should have put some of each type of room in every building. Made it more even.

If it's just me, I'd stay in the Little Mermaid section. If I am in a group, I'd like to stay in the Lion King section.

I'm staying in the little mermaid section in December. If I could find a group to stay with me I'd stay in the Nemo, Lion King and Carsland in that order.
I'm really looking forward to the big blue pool!

I would have to go with Nemo. A friend just got back from spending week there and she said it was amazing! Besides, I have a soft spot for Nemo!

I need to post pics! We visited with friends staying in Nemo, and it was beautiful! The finishes are so nice, y'all. It definitely doesn't feel like a value resort. I was impressed.

As for the question...I think they're all neat! But I really want to get over and explore the Carsland area.

I think it is different than all of the other resorts because of all the suite sized rooms. I would personally want to stay in the Lion King area.

Does anyone think having the suites will change the feel and dynamic of the resort in general? Does it improve your opinion of staying there or discourage you from going anywhere near it?

Since there is no ToyStory wing, I'd have to stay at the Cars area. Since there is just the two of us, standard rooms are fine, we've stayed twice at All-Start Sports (didn't want to abreviate it to ASS, just seemed wrong) and the room size was just fine.

Dang! I've been waiting for that...

I agree that a Toy Story wing would be cool, or a futuristic type Wall-E one. I'd certainly be inclined to stay in a Wall-E themed room.

We are staying in the Cars section in March. If we decide to stay there again we would probably stay in the Lion King section. But there are so many resorts we have yet to stay in that I am sure we will visit every area of AoA in March so we can stay at a different resort the next time.

My mom always says she doesn't want to stay at a higher end resort not because we can't afford it but because once she goes to a deluxe resort, she's never going to want to go back to her cheaper, family-style value resorts. It's kind of funny to me. Haha. When I get older (future DVC member right here as long as my job permits!!!) I'll always probably stay in a moderate or deluxe. Personally, just from being inside of them (but not staying in them) the deluxe isn't worth the money over a moderate, but that's just my opinion. Sorry for being a bit abrupt!

It's okay Hardy, not everyone cares about extras at their hotel. You've said many times you'd rather spend your time in the Parks, and if that's how you travel than a Moderate or Value hotel makes sense.

I prefer a deluxe because I want a door that goes to an interior hallway, and a balcony I can drink my coffee on, more floor space, high thread count sheet, thick towels, room service, several table service restaurants, my choice of bars, valet service, ample bellmen, high end soaps, bigger beds, and a closet that hides my clothes instead of them hanging out in the room, oh! and a lush themed pool with hot tubs and beautiful landscaping. Yep... that's my hotel ;D

Once you buy your DVC, you'll be at deluxe resorts and never want to go back!

So after everything I have decided that I love Nemo best though I don't know if I'd go back without the need for that space again. I might consider the Little Mermaid suites though because apparently the bathroom/shower is amazing in it - it is ariel's grotto.

If I were staying at AoA, I would probably choose the Cars section. But I doubt it will ever happen. If we go to Orlando on a timeshare exchange (and so far that's all we've ever done), we'll either be in a DVC property or completely off site. If we ever stayed in a non-timeshare resort (which is unlikely), it would probably not be an AoA suite - more likely a value or moderate room.

If I was going to stay at AoA I would probably stay at Little Mermaid. There is usually just two of us and would only need to use a standard room.
