Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon... What do you think?

I have been to blizzard beach before and loved it but I never went to Typhoon lagoon and was wondering if it is better, worse or equally as good. What do you guys think? Smile

If I could only go to one, I'd choose Typhoon Lagoon. I like the atmosphere there better, and the wave pool is great.

Blizzard Beach is too "hard-edged" for me - all concrete, white sand, etc. Of course, I may not like it just because I see enough real snow every winter (I live in Canada)! laugh

I like Blizzard Beach better, I think the theme is more present in the slides, and the decor. I also LOVE Summit Plummet! Nothing like going straight down at incredible speeds!

I'm a Typhoon guy all the way. Ace wave pool and castaway creek is just the best way to relax.

I love typhoon! I always only have time to squeeze in one and it's always typhoon. I have been to blizzard beach many times but I just find Typhoon Lagoon to be more fun.

Never been to Typhoon Lagoon as it's always been closed when I've been to WDW. But have been to Blizzard Beach. Just love summit plummit.

I like Typhoon Lagoon better. I've been to both, but Blizzard Beach just seemed too crowded all the time. I'm sure there's just as many people at Typhoon Lagoon, but they just feel more spread out.

We're fans of Typhoon Lagoon. Our first water park trip was to BB. But we got there on a terribly busy day and couldn't find a decent place to sit.

For the last two years we've rented a Beachcomber Shack at TL. FANTASTIC way to spend a day at TL. Bottled water, towels, refillable mugs (valid for the day), a personal attendant, shade/shelter in case of bad weather . . . we love it. We also bought the Water Park Fun & More option on our tickets a few years ago. We still have a few days left. Looking to go back in 2013.

Love Typhoon Lagoon - went in 1989 when my youngest was 6 yrs old - he's now 28! Still love it! Going to add the water park feature when I renew my annual pass in 2013! clapping

Only one I've ever done was Blizzard Beach. I just liked it because of the whole Blizzard theme, and your swimming... heh

I love both! We think that Typhoon Lagoon tends to have more shade, and I love the tropical theming vs the Alpine - BUT - BB is very well done, and the ski lift is pretty cool! If you haven't tried TL, I think it's worth a visit, and then you'll be able to compare. Good luck!

Wishin' I was on one of those lazy rivers right about now. Paradise!

So, Typhoon is the gentler version of the two? I'm a chicken, so words like Summit Plummet in the same sentence scare the bajeezus out of me! Smile

Nancy, I'm a wiener too. I didn't do all of the slides but I like the lazy river in TL better for sure. And all that white for blizzard beach, it was a little much.

You could swim with the sharks and be totally safe, then no one would know you're a chicken Smile

I'd say so. It's the older of the two, and was really out there as a front runner in water parks when it opened. I can't say enough about the theming. I've never been to WetnWild here in Orlando, because going to just a tangle of slides doesn't really appeal to me. But having the story, and the landscape, and the shade - it's really awesome. I am still wishin' I was on a waterslide!

Lizzy_B I can't wait to check it out. I'm just gonna bite the bullet the next time we're there. In addition to being a chicken, I'm also a cheapskate, so I never pay for tickets that include the words "Park Hopper" or "And More". Smile

Just Car- Chickens Unite!! So, what is "swim with the sharks"? Is that one of the attractions at TL or BB??

I've only been to Typhoon Lagoon. Coming from someone who isn't big on water rides, the wave pool, tubing rides, and shark tank were pretty fun!

I do like the overall look of Blizzard Beach better, though, as a water park designed to look like a ski resort. Typhoon Lagoon's was a little generic I guess, with the crashed ship and all.
