Cancelling WDW Package with Flight

Does anyone have any experience with cancelling a Disney package that you booked a flight with? I know the flight is generally nonrefundable, but are you able to cancel the rest of the package and still keep the flight? A weird question I know, but I have a friend who has booked her vacation through Disney but wants to cancel the reservation and rebook through a travel agent but she booked the flight along with her package.

That's a good one, I would call Disney's customer service directly. They've always been very accommodating with my vacation changes and cancellations, Disney wants their guest to be fully satisfied mickey .

If your friends got a great price on the flight by booking the whole package through Disney, the flight price might change, not sure on this.

I would check on whether Disney can price match/meet the travel agent's offer, or has a better offer/deal.

Best of luck and keep us posted. Cheers

As an update for anyone with the same question, if you cancel the package it cancels the flight. No way to keep it. Bummer!

Has she already canceled? If she's rebooking for the same package, there is a way to transfer the reservation to an agent. There's form that will need to be filled out. My friend booked a cruise through Disney and then had it transfered to a travel agent.

I think that has to be completed within 30 days now.

Yup, that's exactly right. You only have 30 days from the date of booking to transfer and she booked at the beginning of August.
