Of course with all the musical training in this family, the argument is often made that if a living thing is musically talented (aka Si and Am can sing) then there is some virtue in them. Sorry, but I have to stand up for the musician!

I don't think the Cheshire Cat is bad just mischievous. He likes to be a trickster. Lucifer from Cinderella, bad. He tries to eat Jacque and Gus Gus and won't help Cinderella when she is locked in her room. Thank goodness for Bruno!

But the Cheshire Cat tries to get Alice beheaded! eek eek There is no benefit to him to have her killed but for his own amusement. Lucifer, on the other hand, might have just been hungry! laugh

They sing BADLY (especially Hook), so that is also included.

It's all in interpretation. In the original book, he's not really a villain. In the animated film, he's deceptive, has no real intentions, and is just trying to cause trouble (just like a real cat Laughing out loud ). But then in the new Alice in Wonderland film with Mia Wasikowska, he's a good guy. But he could just as easily be a villain, like he was in Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. So it's interpretation. Animated version, well, he's just a bad kitty.

Actually, I am also an English teacher, so if we are to analyze the literature from a purely plot line, these characters were are debated are actually, "the motivation that forces the protagonist to make the choice he/she makes."

Okay, enough analysis, awesome
