**Completed** 2015 Besties go to Disney Trip Report

Hi everyone! I finally have a pretty set plan for my short April trip to Disney for Flower and Garden. awesome

Going on this trip will be little old me and 2 of my friends from work, Nadia and Kerry. While I thought they had NEVER been to Disney, I was wrong, they both have but it's been years and they really don't remember much about it.

I have planned and planned and planned and kept them updated and asked for input the whole time. They are both very excited and have said they couldn't find a better person to go to WDW with!!!

We were originally leaving on Friday after work, but our doctor has graciously allowed us to take off that Friday so that we aren't driving all night. yay Sometimes, he can be really nice So far plans are as follows.

Thursday - we work out of town this day so once we get back, Kerry and I will hit Target for road trip snacks. We will head or separate ways home. We have instructed Nadia to spend the night with me since she is ALWAYS late. Can't trust that Italian to be on time ever lol and we don't want a late start to the trip. I have a road trip play list already made up. Right now we are at 93 songs with a ton of Disney ones mixed in! We are also having personalized shirts made. We have all picked out our shirts and we are each getting the princess of our choice on the front then "Yea We Do! 2015" on the back. Yea we do is a catch phrase of ours that came from a patient of ours and we say it or a variation of it ALL THE TIME so we have made it the theme of our trip.

Friday - Get up early and hit the road. We will be stopping to pick Kerry up since her house is on the way. Our plans are to stop in Jacksonville for lunch. We have it narrowed down to a couple places. 4 Rivers, The Blind Rabbit, Maple Street Biscuit or Metro Diner. Decision will be made soon for this. After lunch it's on to Orlando! We wil l be checking into POP hopefully around 4 or 5. I have a very bad feeling about Orlando traffic on a Friday... waiting We have dinner ADR at Sanaa (I have to have that bread!) for 6:50. We will leave from there and head to the Poly for Lapu Lapu and maybe monorail to GF and Contemporary. We have promised ourselves to take it easy on the drinks this night as we have a LONG day Saturday!!! No monorail bar hopping... biggrin

Saturday - Get up early so we can all get ready in time to be at MK for Rope Drop. mickey We are going to stay a couple hours here checking things out then off to Epcot. (This will be my first time park hopping) We plan on not having breakfast as we will be hitting all of the F&G food booths. I have FP picked out for the Character Spot, Soarin and Spaceship Earth. Kerry gets horrible motion sickness so we are going to take it easy on the rides. I have promised her Soarin will be ok... I hope it is. After getting our fill and hanging out in Epcot all day, we will head back to MK. EMH this night until 2AM!!!! We want to see fireworks then just walk around and ride what we can until they have to escort us out. ***alternate plan*** Hit AK first thing in the morning for a couple hours then head to Epcot. Still thinking about doing this. Kerry wants to see it, not really sure it will be feasible to do this but we will see... Must do - pics in front of castle, dole whip, Grand Ma slush and Croissant Doughnut

Sunday - hopefully be up and ready to go for our breakfast ADR for Kona at 9:35am. We will be leaving this day so we will need to be up and have the car packed before heading out. Going to stop at DTD/DS to browse around a little before hitting the road for home Sad Again with a stop in Jacksonville for lunch if we are up for it.

Short but sweet trip that I plan on packing a lot into. I want a real bang for our buck and I want them to love "MY DISNEY" since they don't understand why we go so much! Any input on the 3 different parks would be great. I am thinking we should stick to MK/Epcot because of monorail but I really want to hit AK... Also, if you have been or know, is F&G as crazy packed on the weekends as F&W is?

Sounds fun! Can't go wrong with a good girls weekend. Smile clapping

Personally I think Soarin' is rough for those who get motion sickness, BUT it's good because all you have to do to make it stop is close your eyes. I don't get motion sickness and every so often I get a little queasy on it. Hopefully your friend likes it. Smile

I agree with your plan of MK & Epcot. For such a short trip it's probably the two best places to show them. Though I have a soft spot in my heart for HS, Epcot has the best food and MK has the most "magic". AK is beautiful, but to me it's a really beautiful zoo. I do it every trip, but if you're trying to show off why we all love Disney so much, I say skip it.

Fun!!!!

As for the F & G, we've been to that several times during the end of April time period, and never really noticed much of a difference in the crowd levels on the weekends vs. weeksays. But they have since expanded that whole food aspect of it now so I'm not sure what to expect.

Soarin' definitely got to me, but all you have to do is close your eyes. Unless she gets horrendous motion sickness, then even closed eyes won't help because the seats move (gently, but that would probably be enough to trigger some people's queasies).

This sounds like a total blast! I really want to do a girls trip sometime! I agree with the others, I would focus on MK and Epcot. With only one day there I think it would be too frantic to try and fit three parks in and get to see the highlights of all of them. Plus it gives you an excuse to plan another girls' weekend! awesome

MK and Epcot get my votes as well. A possible tip for the motion sickness, my wife gets this as well. We've found taking a pre-emptive Dramamine every morning really works for her. Hope that helps!!

I talked to Kerry today, she REALLY wants to go to AK. I am at a loss... I'm thinking get there so we are there as soon as it is open and sneak in thru Rainforest Cafe... Head straight to Safari and then hopefully hop in line for the 10:00 FOtLK (although I think we would be pushing that unless we book it to safari) then ME hop single rider line for Everest (I gotta get something out of this) roam the Tree of Life and head out. Drive over to MK and take the monorail to Epcot in time for lunching (and drinking) around the world. Our 1st FP is 5 (Soarin)... then head back to MK

Luckily I have plenty of time to think about it!

I forget that you have your car! That should definitely help with trying to hit 3 parks in one day. Those buses can kill your schedule waiting

Yea, I get a little antsy on the buses when there are a lot of people. I much prefer to drive, I feel more in control that way.

From a logistical perspective, you can hit every ride at all four parks in one day. These guys did it:

My BFF announced that she didn't want to ride ANY rides. She wants to shop, eat, look at the F&G festival stuff. We are also on a character encounter obsession.

I booked the Fast Passes, so guess what...some are rides. Then....she thought we could do EVERYTHING at WDW in half a day.

Yep. In 2 weeks her world is going to get ROCKED. Like FOOD Rocks or the ROCKin Roller coaster.

For those with motion sickness, rather than close your eyes, I've found focussing on one point to be more helpful. Sometimes closing your eyes can enhance the motion rather than dull it.

Very true. In some cases, "spotting," the way a dancer spots when she twirls, is very helpful.

WHAT!?!? I can't manage everything at the Magic Kingdom in 1/2 a day. Goodness you've got to get her training for your trip, she's never gonna make it.

How in the world did I miss that video??? That is awesome! Those guys are my new heroes lol!!!

I came back to let you all know we are going for the 3 parks. If I could find a logical way to slip into HS I would but I am going to reign my self in and stick to 3. Nadia ordered her shirt yesterday and the one who suggested matching shirts (Kerry) has yet to get hers. I guess I better do it myself.

Package from travel agent arrived awesome

Magic bands arrived yeah

Countdown getting smaller stars

BUT STILL HAVE TO GET THRU 3 MORE WEEKS gaah

Yep, Mickey Mail has been flooding my mailbox. Nadia and I have our shirts. Kerry's you ask? It was her idea to get matching shirts right?? YES... I had to get online at work the other day, make hers then get her credit card to order it. I have it coming to my house so I can wash it and pack it for her LOL

We came to the final decision that we are in face going to do the 3 parks, AKL, Epcot then MK. I. Can. Not. Wait.

My mother laughed when I told her and said we are crazy but I have confidence!

All kinds of little logistical things have happened as far as leaving times and coming back are concerned but nothing to interfere with the trip thank goodness! I will keep everything here updated as it gets closer and of course, if I am not sleeping another Live From the Bubble TR!

Well, here we are 10 days out. Single digits tomorrow. I am desperately trying to figure out a way we can leave Thursday night. laugh

Outfits are all hanging together in the closet (jewelry and shoes ready to go too).

MagicBands, itinerary and notes are all together on my dresser.

The girls have been briefed on what to expect and what not to forget to pack.

I am NOT taking the big cameras... GASP!!! eek I am still in shock that I made this decision. I will rely solely on my phone.

Also, no bag in the parks. No camera, no bag, what will I hold???? (I will probably cave on the bag thing last minute)

crossfingers hope I get to at least put a face with a name with some of you, it will be a busy busy day for us girls with 3 parks but if I can squeeze in a hi and bye I would love to!!!

Haven't decided if I will take the laptop. Probably not enough time this trip so I will make notes and TR it when I get home!

It's time!!! It's time it's time it's time! Ok. Not really. A few more hours... ok we will be there tomorrow afternoon! Bags are packed and car is gassed up. Nadia will be here bright and early (I hope) and we will be off to pick up Kerry! I'm leaving the laptop home so I will rely on the old noggin for the TR. I caved and will be taking the camera too! I will try to update on the fly some or if you would like folow along on Facebook! Until tomorrow, sweet dreams!
