Date Announced for Avengers Sequel

Just got this in my inbox from Walt Disney Studios with a note from my PR contact that he wishes it was more but that this is all the information they have.

"SEQUEL TO MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS TO HIT THEATERS MAY 1, 2015

The Walt Disney Studios has announced a release date for Marvel Studios' sequel to the biggest Super Hero blockbuster and third highest grossing film of all time, Marvel's The Avengers. Joss Whedon returns to write and direct the UNTITLED MARVEL'S AVENGERS SEQUEL set for release May 1, 2015."

Let me see if I have this all straight. This is coming out after Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant-Man, Winter Soldier, Thor 2, Iron Man 3, and Untitled Marvel TV Show (my bet is going towards Heroes for Hire).

Man, I REALLY wish 20th Century Fox didn't own the movie rights to X-Men. Then maybe we'd get that Deadpool movie...

Yup... next year we have Iron Man 3, then Thor 2. 2014 We will have Captain America 2, and Guardians. Ant Man is now the only one without a release date which worries me... But even though I want Avengers 2 now... I think we got plenty to wet our appetites for now... lol

Just wish we had another one this year.

Just keep them rolling out, Marvel, I'll show up for every last one of them. Including Ant-Man, which I confess is one superhero I didn't think would translate well to the big screen. (Will the Wasp be along?)

Oh, I do hope so. It would be of odd if she wasn't. awesome

Did you know that Hank Pym was actually mentioned in the script of Thor? He was the other scientist that Selvig was talking about after SHIELD took their stuff, but his name was removed from the dialogue because with Avengers coming up it made more sense for the audience to think he was talking about Banner. Cool stuff.

My son asked the same thing and I said if the Wasp isn't... then they truly missed the boat on it. And I agree as well... I'm interested in how Ant Man will translate to the big screen. Out of all the Avengers... he is my least favorite. I still would love for Disney to buy out the rights to Spiderman, and get Spiderman in Avengers... he he he

Interesting! I didn't know that, just assumed Selvig was talking about Banner.
