Direct to room check-in

I have not heard too much about the new service since they began to roll it out. Has anyone used it? Pros/Cons? I am thinking about trying it this next trip, but I am afraid some of the magic will be lost when we do not have the interaction with the cast members when we first arrive.

I haven't heard much either. Plus, I like the check-in process when we arrive. I like the interaction, getting our pins and our maps and maybe having a little extra magic thrown in! mickey

I haven't heard from anyone who has tried it. I like checking in. We get a lovely welcome home and our Disney packet which I am always excited for.

I like checking in too, so I haven't used it. Nor have I heard many opinions about it.

I think I will probably just go the old-fashioned route then. We go for our anniversary, so it will be nice to get our pins also.

We've never done it, but I would try it.

We had the option to use it in January. We did not use it. If we had, I don't know if we would have been upgraded to Club Level at the Poly or not. I would rather have the interaction with the CM's anyway.

We have used it once at Pop Century. It worked well because our room was ready when we got there. After we went to the room we still went up front to get our packet and pins. This trip our room was not ready when we arrived so we went to the online check-in desk and picked up our packet. No extra magic.... but then we have never received any upgrades when we have checked in either way. Our CM at check in this time wasn't overly magical anyway and seemed a bit annoyed when we asked she thought the room might be ready. She said typically after 3 (it was about 10:30 am) so we went to drop our carry ons off at guest services and as soon as we got there we received a text that the room was ready.... so maybe a little magic happened mickey

I agree with the majority, It's all a part of the fun checking in having that initial interaction at your hotel of choice

We used it in April, before we even got into Orlando I got a text that our room was ready. We still went to the desk after getting into our room so that the girls could link their own credit cards to their MBs. I think it is great and you can still stop by later.

We'll probably try it on our arrival night in December. We will be getting in past Penny's bedtime and will only be at that resort (All Star Sports) one night and then we will be moving over to Saratoga where we will check in at the desk.
