Disney just announced 'Frozen' summer fun at HS

I just read on the Disney parks blog about the 'Frozen' summer fun coming to HS, starting July 5, 2014- Sept 1, 2014. It sounds like a few fun additions to HS, but not too much 'Frozen' that it will completely take over the park.

I just saw this too! Looks like fun, but what (if anything) is being removed from the indoor areas to make room for these things? And will the fireworks interfere with Fantasmic?

I'm not sure what will be removed for the indoor activities. I think it might be in the same building they had the "Darth Mall" for SWW. If it's there, then nothing should need to be removed.

As far as the fireworks, it shouldn't affect Fantasmic. The fireworks from any other special event at HS don't affect Fantasmic. They just don't ever do the fireworks too close to a showing of Fantasmic.

So excited for this! One of our DHS days is September 1st so we'll be there for the last day. It says the fireworks are at 9:45pm and Fantasmic is at 8:30pm and 10pm that night...does anyone know if you can see the fireworks decently from the Fantasmic arena if we're planning on the 10pm show? Or should we just aim for the 8:30pm?

yay Isn't is wonderful when your already scheduled vacation coincides with a special event that's announced later?!

I'm not sure how well you'll be able to see the fireworks from the Fantasmic arena. Whenever we've been at HS for special fireworks they are set off behind the Hat. I really don't know if you'd have a good view or not be able to see any at all.

The fireworks are usually set off from behind the hat or that general area. Comissionary Lane up GMR and down Mickey Ave just past Pixar Place to the Backlot Tour is usually closed off during the fireworks. Nothing should be removed. They are using Sound Stage for the inside stuff and Premier Theater which sits empty 90% of the year.

I am ridiculously excited about this special summer event!! Finally Disney announced a new thing and I'm accidentally going to be there when it's happening!! That quick (and slightly ridiculous) weekend trip for villains unleashed is looking like it was a better and better idea!! My favorite thing is Wandering Oaken's trading post--I love Oaken!!

When I saw this was revealed I got ridiculously excited!!!!!............then I noticed the dates sad i really hope this is something they decide to extend because I think its great and it would be another reason to visit HS which at the moment isn't my most favourite park (not that I don't like it I just like the other parks better)

Cant wait to see pictures from people who do go though!!!!!

Well, remember, Anna and Elsa were originally only scheduled to meet guests from November to January, and that changed significantly.

I don't know if this will make your husband feel any better, but Olaf won't be appearing. He will only be heard talking at certain places in the park and he will only be seen on a movie screen or tv monitors in the park.

So according to Disney Dining, they are adding ice skating for $10! Here's the link

I think Doc should stay away from the ice skating. laugh

I heard about this today...kind of ridiculously excited. It says that availability of skates may be limited due to sizes. I wonder what sizes they will have. I have skates, but we're packing in a single carry-on for our 3-day trip in August and A) I can't afford the space my skates will take up and B) I haven't checked yet, but I feel like ice skates are probably a prohibited carry-on item on the TSA checklist.

Disney just released pictures from Wandering Oaken's trading post, inside HS. They actually have Oaken's "Shack." They also have lots of pictures of the merchandise that will be sold there, such as special Frozen magic bands and lots of stuffed Sven's and Olaf's. The ice skating rink costs $10 for 30 minutes and includes skates, helmets, and socks. You even get to keep the socks when you are done skating, which is nice and hygienic biggrin

I reckon it will be extended as this film seems to be a huge business success for Disney...Over here the Frozen merchandise is flying off the shelves...My little niece who lives in U.A.E. is desperate for us to get her Elsa stuff, like a doll and a dress..So fingers X the shop will still be open..

I can't see any reason disney wouldn't keep this location open, this is going to be big money for them. All the reviews I've read have said that the welcome parade and sing along are pretty lame, but I would think they could extend the parade to a full parade by adding a couple of cheap floats one with Olaf on, I have seen pictures where one of the floats is empty, they could have oaken on the float kristoff is on, put kristoff on a float with some trolls and hans could be on there. Maybe get the girls a proper float too. I have to say disneyland paris had a frozen float in February what was just a reprint of an old little mermaid float and it looked awesome. I'm sure all the old parade floats from jamming jungle and the last MK parade could be put to good use. And as for the studio 1 space surely it's just cost effective to have something there rather then take it away. I know my Finance who is 26 would pay to skate, will build a snowman and buy PS100 of dollars worth of merch if it's there in October.

Also disney need people to go to HS things like this and the villi s event are a huge step forward..... On that note, if disney know the villi s are a draw why did they take them away from the parks? I loved the 90s when they were out all the time. One massive up side of disneyland paris is the roaming villains like the hag, the evil queen and jafar.

A doll maybe - those dresses however have been a VERY rare find over here. People have been paying thousands of dollars for them on ebay because they've sold out so quickly. I'm not sure that you'll have any better luck in the park.

I loved it when they walked around all the time! When I went in 2002 I remember just seeing Jafar in Fantasyland and getting sooooo excited.

Sounds like great fun, but unfortunately we'll miss it by about a month.. Maybe, just maybe they either extend it or bring it back for the X-Mas holidays!! My six year old daughter can't get enough of all Things "FROZEN"

BTW, That Margarita offering looks really tasty... I may have to try to replicate that at home.. awesome

I was just in the shop yesterday. They had plenty of Anna and Elsa dolls, plenty of Olaf plushes, books, shirts, tutus, dvds, cds and drawings. They had no Sven plushes at all. I don't remember if they still had dresses or not.
