Disney Secures Hunger Games for TV

Did you go see the Hunger Games? We haven't gotten there quite yet, but my husband and son, who read the books, are just dying to see the film!

I read today that Disney has secured the TV rights to Hunger Games and it's Sequel. So nice of them to not hold a grudge against that executive that quit Disney and headed to Lions Gate. LoL!

Will you watch?

No. Will not watch. That movie seems too darn depressing. If I want depressing, I can watch the news.

I haven't seen the movie yet. I want to read the book first.

CCC - it is definitely a little depressing but it's a story of survival. It's very touching and interesting. it tackles some real issues with poverty and class separation, but the overall theme is survival. I don't think it's as depressing as the news. I highly recommend this series to anyone and everyone!

As much as I love the books and the movie, I just don't know if I'd want to watch the TV show. Very depressing, although it could be pretty dramatic!

I could be mistaken, but I believe that what they secured was to be able to air the movies on ABC Family at a future date.

I haven't thought about the potential for it to be depressing, I still want to go see it, so hopefully it will stick around for awhile in the theater here.

I read somewhere {I forget where} that they wanted to make a Hunger Games TV show and I assumed that is what Disney got, sorry!

You definitely need to go see it - I LOVED the books and thought the movie was also so good.
