Disneyland brawl

Anyone see this horrific incident that happened 7/8/19? It took security what seemed a long time to show up. I won't post a link, just start typing Disney in a web search and it will show up. Scary and sad.

eek That takes families being stressed out on vacation to a whole new level. And the DA is saying that the family denies anything happened! Those were totally face punches being thrown. Unreal. People need to get a grip.

I laughed when I read they were denying anything happened. There's video evidence that it DID in fact happen. How stupid are these people?

In today's world you cannot do anything in public without someone filming it. They must be a fun family to be with at holiday time. The poor children. I hope they get banned it was totally unacceptable behaviour.

I watched one of the videos. Security didn't show up until 3 and 1/2 minutes in to the video. That seems like a long time to me for something like this.

I was reading an article that the "security" isn't trained for something like this. I don't know if that is true or not but I be damned if I am going to stand around and watch a man hit a woman. I've stepped in for friends in the past and I wouldn't hesitate for a stranger. Yeah, I know it's a dangerous situation but someone needed to do something sooner than they did. Thanks goodness for the guy towards the end that finally stepped in. And when he did many more did too.

It's a shame to be in these types of situations. It's scary and traumatic. if you are denying something like this you have more serious issues going on in your life.

I hope the women involved get help. Maybe, just maybe this was their cue.

Seriously? I expected more than that out of Disney.

As I was watching it I kept thinking if they act like this in public, what are they like in private.

Right? Can you imagine living with a family like that? Geordon and I are kind of known for the fact that we don't fight. Like - we've had one big fight (and it wasn't physical) in 20 years. Most of our friends find us pretty strange. I can not even wrap my head around a family member spitting on me or punching me in the face in the middle of Disneyland. What on earth would bring that on.

eek Sounds like it continued after they left the Park too!

"After the group was escorted from the property, prosecutors said Robinson threatened to kill his sister and brother-in-law, simulating a gun with his hand, inside the parking structure. He also tried to hit a Disneyland employee with his car, authorities said."

They're throwing the book at that guy, good!

Good. That display was disgusting and inexcusable. They should have charged and arrested the woman in WDW as well.

Security's mission is to observe and report.

That was not always the case. I have seen Disney's plain clothed security swoop in and take a guy down, and move him off stage in what felt like the blink of an eye, with uniformed guards quickly on the tail to disperse onlookers. Granted, that was more than two decades ago, but the operation was impressive to watch and has always left me with a sense of security being in the Parks. If they have moved from actual safety procedures to nothing more than security theater I am greatly disappointed.

From what I know, Disney security is not supposed to physically engage with the guests.
