I have never been but it is on my bucket list. Brad's comments on his recent trip have made me want to even more.

We're about equally distant, but WDW is much easier to make a whole trip out of so we've always done WDW.

I can't wait to explore DL someday. Brad's photos and comments have really whet my appetite for this. I think the size will be disappointing, but riding some of the original rides will be great. Plus, I hear space mtn is much better at DL!

We often talk about the nostalgia and history of some Disney attractions. If that is something you think about, you will appreciate what Disneyland has to offer. If it is something you're aware of, you can almost feel the history of what's around you. It's the only park designed and built under the direct supervision of Walt himself - I think it's pretty special to walk down the very same Main Street USA. I think most any of the WDW veterans here could appreciate the differences and unique aspects of DL. While it doesn't have the same scope and scale of the World, I think it is worth a visit.

That's exactly what I think will happen when I go. I can't wait to someday see the actual firehouse where Walt had his apartment. We're hopeless nostalgics in my house, so I think we'll really appreciate riding Pirates, seeing the tiki Room, and riding Snow White knowing they were Walt's creations.

Im a So Cal native transplanted in Western Colorado. I have to go home every so often. I grew up going to Disneyland quite frequently and even moreso as an adult. I love love love WDW..but my heart will always be at DLR. Trying to compare the 2 is like trying to compare apples to oranges. Yes they are Disney parks but they are vastly different.

I have been to both DLR and WDW in the last 6 months with plans to go back to DLR in Novemeber! yeah

So is a flight to each place about the same distance? Or is it a little longer to WDW?

Nah, its about an hour to LAX and about 5 hours to MCO. And the flight to DLR is direct and the flight to MCO has 1 change..usually at DFW

I think it's really bad that I don't know my American geography at all. I was right there with dsoup that Colorado is "right in the middle." I can see why you go to Disneyland more often (plus the familial/history ties.)

I grew up going to WDW so it is closer to my heart. But after having been twice to Disneyland in the last three years, and given my status a a head over the heels Disney nostalgist, Disneyland has taken up it's own space in my heart. Add to that that fact that my wife grew up going to DL just as I grew up going to WDW, we're definitely a bicoastal Disney family.

Anyone who considers themselves a Disneyfile NEEDS to spend time at Disneyland.

I'd really love to try it out. I wish my annual pass (whenever I get my next one) covered there too.

I bet that would be cheaper than getting Disneyland tickets. If I do DL I'd like to do it right and stay for several days.

So that makes 3 days about your break-even point right? Maybe 4?

Wow, surprising poll results.

I thought more of you would have been.

I've not been yet but would love to go to the D23 Expo next year if I can swing it then of course I'd have to do a park visit. biggrin

The Expo would be awesome! How close are they to selling out tickets?

We tried it for the first time recently. I enjoyed it much more than I expected. We'd really like to go back next year. I think it's Apples and Oranges to Disney World, but it's awesome too.

totally agree with ya Brad...but it is a great "first step" with smaller kids (I dont take taddlers to WDW..I dont take kids under the age of about 8 either..its just TOOO much) to get them into the spirit of it.
