Do you stay at the same Disney resort everytime?

Just curious to see who stays at the same Disney resort hotel each visit. Why do you stay at that particular resort? Who changes it up? We normally stay at Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter. Only on special occasions have we stayed at a deluxe. If it was in the budget, a deluxe each time.......

We are DVC members so we always stay at our home resort of Animal Kingdom Lodge. Although when we go on our honeymoon trip in November we are going to stay at the Boardwalk

I'm a DVC Member as well, so AKL is always the first place I make a reservation at. However after several trips staying there we were all getting a little fatigued with the hotel, my family asked me to change it up. My first "change up" was a room at Kidani instead of Jambo House. laugh No one was amused.

DH and I have stayed at Saratoga Springs on points, and in June we'll be in a Wilderness Lodge Villa. My daughter Katie really loves balloons, and she can't have those at Animal Kingdom Lodge so she's pretty excited that we'll be staying someplace else.

My favorite Resort is the Polynesian, however the amount of points it costs to stay there is INSANE, so I won't be staying there again any time soon. I'm taken whole trips on less points than one night of staying on points at the Polynesian.

In October we stayed at Art of Animation because we were paying cash. Me in a value resort will probably not be happening again soon. I would give the Coronado Springs a try though and probably Port Orleans Riverside's Princess Rooms.

We are DVC members also and our home resort is SSR, and we have stayed there several times. It is a very lovely resort, but it is large, and can be a hike to get something to eat or coffee in the morning. Also the food court there could use a lot of improvement and the only restaurant being "The Turf Club" which is excellent for dinner, now only serves dinner. They are no longer serving lunch.

You all know we love the Poly & stay there any chance we can, but scrappy's in the mood to test around a bit so we are trying some of the other resorts now and then. January we are in the Poly, July we are splitting our stay between the Boardwalk & the Poly, and Sept now I think she wants to try WL, and to answer your question, "if it's in the budget, a deluxe each time?" For us yes!

Now lets see if any of those plans change if there are any good book back discounts.

I own BCV and BWV points- I always stay at Beach Club if possible. Boardwalk is an alternate. A couple of times I was forced to stay at SSR and I don't care for it. But it will do in a pinch I guess.

Did you read in the Winter Disney Files that the Artist Palate is getting a menu refresh? Also they will now be fast casual with ordering at a touch screen and delivery to the table.

Our home resort is BWV, which is where we stay every trip. We spend nearly all of our park time at Epcot, and our favorite restaurants are at the Swan/Dolphin. Can't beat the location for convenience to the things we enjoy most.

I love POR/POFQ!

I have my favourite resorts, but I like to sleep around laugh I've gone six times (as an adult) and stayed at POFQ, WL, Contemporary, Poly, and twice at POR.

My two favourites are Wilderness lodge and POR. I also like to do split stays at resorts as it gives me exposure to more resorts and helps cut a few hundred$$$ from the budget. A day or two at a moderate then finish off the week at a deluxe.

Only resort i've ever stayed at on property is the Boardwalk... And I think I was about 15... This year will be the first time I have ever paid out of my own pocket to stay on Disney property... We are trying Wilderness Lodge this year... But I think we will be taking my in laws to AKL next year... My mother in law loves animals... I definitely want to try each though!! I'm sure each one is a different experience.

We stayed at Wilderness Lodge for our honeymoon and that was it. We were hooked. I'm not sure if we'd be happy staying anywhere else. We love the atmosphere and the proximity to Magic Kingdom. It's nice to have other transportation options than the buses. We can take a boat to MK or a boat to the Contemporary and hop on the Monorail to Epcot. But, the thing we love the most is that it's all one building. It's so nice to not have to hike to a "main" building and even better when it's raining! If we were to stay somewhere else, although I doubt that will happen, Port Orleans French Quarter would be a consideration for a moderate and either the Yacht Club or Grand Floridian for a deluxe.

It has become my newest bucket list item to stay at each of the resorts at least once so the answer for me is no! We stayed at CBR last time and I wasn't overly impressed. Next trip we're planning on trying the Boardwalk and then we want to take DH's parents to next AKL.

We stayed at Caribbean Beach Resort once. My son loved the pool because it reminded him of the fort on Pirates of the Caribbean ride. It was nice but I prefer Port Orleans Riverside better. My hubby LOVES French Quarter at Port Orleans the best. He loves the architecture, landscape, and how small and quaint it is. The only deluxe we've stayed at have been the Wilderness Lodge, Yacht Club, Polynesian (when I was a kid). Wilderness Lodge was our fave out of that. It's just so majestic! This year we are going to shoot for the Beach Club. Never stayed there but have used the pool (during our stay at Yacht Club) and have eaten at Cape May.

For those who have stayed at the Beach Club, any particular room or area we should request? Thanks all!

I am with Allie - I would love to stay at each WDW resort. My DVC home resort is OKW. Even with the latest refurbishings, I think it is getting a little dated. When I plan a large group gathering, I usually book at OKW since we have needed the Grand Villa and take advantage of the 11 month booking window. We had 12 people each time. For all other last minute reservations, I usually get what is available and it usually has been at AKL. I agree with MRHUB - staying at OKW or SSR can be a little inconvenient, since your room could be a ways away from the lobby and eating areas. The few times we stayed at OKW and SSR, we had a vehicle so we were able to drive up to the restaurants to get food/drink to being back to the room. In my opinion, I think the rooms at OKW/SSR when compared to the same type of room at the other resorts is that the rooms at OKW/SSR are somewhat larger. This could be an advantage if you have a large group gathering.

On the other hand, I do prefer staying at the "hotel" type resorts since they are more convenient in terms of food and hanging out in the lobby area. But I dont have any preference at this point. My wife loves AKL. I would like to stay at GF or BLT next. But as Kristen mentioned, I think for those who have DVC memberships, staying at a resort with points that is not part of the DVC group of resorts, there is a premium you have to pay with regards to points. Has anyone else who are DVC members noticed this as well?

I'm a DVC member too, with SSR being my home resort. I haven't stayed there yet, but will eventually. I'm working my way thru the different resorts to see if I like one better than the others. So far, I've stayed at AKL Jambo House, which I liked quite a bit, and spent a few days the Boardwalk, which was also nice. I'll be checking out OKW in January, as well as showing the DW the BWV being she wasn't with me last time. Of course this time, we have a garden view ( there were no boardwalk view available). So far I've liked each place I've stayed onsite, including the Pop Century, and the Coronado ( although so far I'd have to say I like the Coronado least). Each one has something going for it.

Of course MrHub has me wanting to check out the Poly,.. but all in good time.

Becca,

Did you stay in one of the Honeymoon Suites on your honeymoon? I have a Honeymoon Suite booked for our honeymoon last week of Sept 2013, and was wondering what your experience was like.

Hi Paul,

Nope, we booked a standard view room but requested a king bed so we were upgraded to a Woods View but it was still a 'regular' room. Every stay (3) we've had at WL has been absolutely amazing (all in regular rooms) so I know that the Honeymoon Suite will be indescribable for you and your lucky bride! Smile

We've stayed at CBR twice and Port Orleans Riverside once...and PORS definitely topped CBR. Our next stay is going to be at the Polynesian - fell in love with it when we went to the character breakfast at 'Ohana's muchlove

I've stayed at the Grand Floridian, AKL, and ASMu for my past three trips. I am staying at POR this next trip in May. If I could afford the GF again, I would stay there. AKL was not worth the money for me.

I would stay at the All Star's again because if I just need a bed and I don't plan any real resort time, then they're great. I am doing POR because a) I've heard great things about it and b) I REALLY want/need a hot tub at the end of the day! (and I have to try the biegnets!)

I may try some others because I want to experience the different hotels, but I also want to get, what I feel, is the best 'bang for the buck.'
