DVC "Perks" - Have you Used Them?

DVC Owners get some specific "perks" (read that as small discounts) that they can indulge in such as:

Annual Pass Discount
Mary Poppins on Broadway Discount
La Nouba Discount
Richard Petty Driving Experience Discount
D23 Membership Discount
Dolphin Dive Discount
20% off Owners Locker
10% off Dining at some Restaurants
Unspecified DTD Shopping Discounts
20% Off Disneyland Tours & Mandara Spa
Discount on Hard Ticket Events like MNSSHP & MVMCP

Does anyone every use these? Other than the AP discount, I can't say that I live in an area or go to Disney frequently enough to make these discounts worth while at all. I have used the hard ticket even discount before. However, I would have rather kept free valet and mousekeeping than have vague discounts I never use available to me.

Since Disneyland doesn't have a decent dining plan, we'll be paying cash to eat. I'll be asking for that 10% DVC Discount for sure, however that small discount isn't even enough to cover the tip. LoL... They'll be six of us, so I'm hoping it will at least take off $10 per table service meal.

What DVC perks have you taken advantage of?

I've used the $100 off of the AP, we have an Owner's Locker but we got it long before they started offerring the discount...Most of the food discount we've used our TiW card for...Now a DVC owner can buy a TiW for $100, without having to be an AP holder.
We've also used it in the past for MNSSHP tix.

Yes we have taken advantage of the perks, but they are never gauranteed to stay. Thats why we bought DVC for the way it worked for us, not for the perks.

Sure we like to take advantage of the perks, and like Mrhub we don't have our DVC membership for the perks. We have gotten the 10% discount on AP's, the Cirque La Nouba discounts, 10% off Dining (when we don't have the TiW card) and also have attended MVMCP & MNSSHP with the discounts applied. Another "perk" that I never see mentioned, except by Zz one time, is the Welcome Home Wednesday gathering at Atlantic Dance Hall on Wed. afternoon, lt's always good for free light refreshments, soaking up the AC and getting some free gifts (usually free hats, I have at least 10 DVC hats) and sometimes you could win even larger free door prizes that they give out.

I really want to do this, but we usually fly down on a Wednesday and never seem to make it. Last time I even scheduled an earlier flight with the hope of going... and the plane was delayed! I did attend the DVC welcome party on board the Disney Dream. I swear that they were trying to get me drunk! Every time my glass was emptied, someone would put another Mimosa down in front of me. I guess drunk guests buy more DVC!

I hate when that happens. Smile

It's one of those things I have trouble passing up. The kids joke that it's my favorite breakfast wink

Just like Hub and Vette... we didnt buy into DVC for the discounts, but we do use some. The biggest is the discount for the annual pass. You also get a discount on the Tables of Wonderland which were doing this year. We also use the DTD discount, but I believe the annual pass gets you a bigger discount. Another thing thats not listed, but its not a deal are exclusive pins. Me being a pin collector... I enjoy that perk the most. So ill get my pins for the annual pass AND DVC pins. I forgot to get mine for 2010, and luckily they had some still last November and got '10 and '11... heh.

But yeah... the perks are cool, but the discount you end with in the end for room at Disney is why we did this in the first place. awesome
