DVC Studio rooms

We have our first ever stay in a DVC Studio at BLT in a few weeks. It's also our first ever stay at a Deluxe resort! I'm just wondering what the kitchenettes are equipped with. I know there's a mini fridge, coffee maker, microwave and maybe a toaster. Are there dishes? We usually buy the refillable mugs as we like to have tea most nights but this year since we're driving we figured it would be cheaper to just bring a kettle and tea bags and make it ourselves. Should we bring mugs (or buy a couple Wink )

Hi Spook, I'm in a studio at BLT right now and the kitchen has paper bowls and plates, plastic wear, a can opener, coffee and small coffee cups, a coffee maker, water glasses, an ice bucket, dish towels, dish cloths, paper towels, and a toaster. There is a microwave and a mini fridge.

I don't see any mugs or tea bags. A kettle won't help because there's no stove, but you can probably heat water in a coffee maker, right?

I've heated water for tea in a coffee maker, but the water usually doesn't get quite hot enough for tea. But you can also heat water for tea in the microwave. Just need some mugs from home.

Now, that is very good to know. I'm a big tea drinker, and I've always had to heat my tea water in the microwave or using a stovetop cooking pan. Next time I will ask for a real kettle.

I'm in a studio in Kidani at the moment and there are mugs. You can ask for a tea kettle according to the list inside the cupboard door. We bring our own kettle from the UK just in case and T bags which reminds me must get up and put it in it takes so long to boil I can shower etc and then it is done and mustn't be late today as meeting Alicemouse.

There are small cups, but no large mugs like those that would be sold Ina Disney gift shop--unless someone took them from our room eek

We love the location of BLT, but we definitely preferred the theming at wilderness lodge. Will you have a car or use Disney transportation? I think without a car I would not really care for this location. We do love the views here (12th floor) and being on site for top of the world is great!

We will have a car this time since we're driving down. We usually just park the car when we have it and use Disney transportation. We don't drive when we don't have to mickey

As a 21 year DVC Veteran, I know for sure that if you ask for a mug or kettle, they will bring you a mug. Or at the very least as many disposable coffee cups as you wish. You can also special request items from housekeeping such as kettles (or other items you may want, such as an additional foam mattress topper for your bed, if it is too hard). Depending on the Studio, you may or may not have real dishware in the rooms. I believe many now are starting to carry primarily paper plates and cups. If you stay in a larger room (1 bedroom or larger), then there will be standard kitchen utensils and pots/pans for cooking. If you need anything extra, housekeeping will bring it to you upon request.
