Fingers crossed. Disney has generally not been doing much ROFRing on AKL, from what the sales folks tell me. I got about that amount of pts too, with 2013 pts, a good price, and no ROFR!

AKV pts are awesome, as with the 11 month window you can book value studios. This translates into 3 week long trips to Disney a year, including the peak week of spring break, with points to spare if i want to trade over to another property at the 7 month mark.

Now, I'm anxious for you but I know it will go well!
Working on talking my hubs into at least doing the DVC informational thing while we're there in Oct. What a great time to sell it to him!! He's worried about the financial impact though and I can't say I blame him. It is definitely an investment. I'm trying to make him understand - "if we don't eat, if we don't buy clothes, if we don't....."
No, I'm kidding about that. We're looking to buy a house on a NC beach in a few years, so I'm trying to change his mind into DVC instead. I mean, we don't have to live in a "nice" house at the beach - it's the beach for goodness sake. Everything is sandy anyway.

Anyway, I digress. I know this will work out perfect for you and can't wait to hear the good news!!

Yes! The idea of a beach house is sooooo much better than the reality, it's not even the sand everywhere, everything needs doing more often cause of the sea air.... You'd spend so much on the house anyway, dvc would be a better investment..... Hahahaha see how I helped there?

We were fantasizing about buying property at Topsail when we were on vacation earlier this summer...that shocked us back to reality!

Congrsts Robyn.

We went through a DVC presentation last year, so this year we only gabbed with a rep in the DVC booth. He was trying to talk us into 100 points at $150.00 a point at the Grand Floridan. We were told GF and AKV are the two they are selling. When we went last year they were selling Bay Lake Tower and AKV. When we were talking about it I wondering to myself what the going the price on resales were right now. We also talked about the people that joined the Beach club 20 years ago. They bought in at $6,000. I almost died. When I was married to my ex we looked into it, but I would have lost it in the divorce anyways.

I am still on the fence about buying in because we love POFQ so much, we can not travel more once a year and Jason much change Jobs here in about 5 years and I think we should see what his new job will be before we commit to a long term contract.
