It's still in testing phases through the end of the month but I think after, it will be available to everyone as of November. It is associated with magic bands. If you get a magicband, you can participate in fastpass+. Regular fastpasses will still be available for a while.

Can you get regular fast passes if you have the bands? Don't think I like the fast pass+ Idea. Makes me feel like I really have to keep to a schedule and we only use it on tsm and soarin.

Hi Mandy

Thank you.
Do you know if magic bands will be available for all resorts come 2014. We are planning out Disneymoon for 1st week in March. And we are going to be at the POP.

Magic Days, I was told at Guest Relations in DW and on the phone w/ annual pass holders info, that once you get your magic band, you will ONLY participate in FastPass+. I was told their goal is, by the middle/end of next year, everyone who goes to Disney world will have a magic band and the Fast Pass system that currently exists will be eliminated altogether.

Isabel Snow, I have been told repeatedly by different workers at Disney world and on the phone(I have LOTS of questions about the new magic bands/FastPass+system) that they don't know yet when the magic bands will be fully implemented. I was told that this is how the order will go for people to get magic bands:
1.People with Reservations at a Disney Resort
2.Annual Pass holders(regardless of a Disney Resort Reservation)
3.Anyone visiting the park(w/out a Dis. Res. Res)
But as I said earlier, I was also told that they don't expect this to be fully implemented until the middle/end of next year.
Since you have a Reservation at POP in March, you will most likely get the bands before hand and be able to customize them. But if you were to call and ask right now, I don't think they could give you a definitive answer.

The magic bands are pretty much live at this point. If you stay at a resort that has magicbands, you will most likely get offered magicbands. If you have a magicband, you are not supposed to use the regular fastpass system because that is like double dipping. You can change fastpass+ selections as long as you haven't used them.

Thank you to everyone who has responded. I have been trying to do pre-trip planning and I think having the Fast Pass + will change some of my plans. Thank you for taking some of the wonder off me.

We are finishing up our visit tomorrow we have the bands and could get fastpass+ options in one park and when we parked hopped we could get regular fast passes in the aditional parks, we were also able to get additional passes in the initial park we went to if we didn't have fastpass+s for the return time listed.

For those of you who have used FP+, have you enjoyed it?

I need to call them, I think.

We have a split stay - one night at AoA, cash and four nights at OKW on a DVC rental. I have magic bands ordered, but I think they link to our AoA stay, because I also have 4-day park hopper tickets through RunDisney that have to be picked up at will call. I wonder if they can transfer those tickets onto our magic bands? Anyone have a guess? Or should I just grab the paper tickets and kick it old school this trip? wheelchair

OOOOO!! I know the answer!! Yes you can have them transferred to the magic bands, they will do it for you at the concierge desk at the resort when you check in!! They offered to do mine, but since I was upgrading to an AP, I waited til I had that and linked it!!

Eh. It really does take away your flexibility. You can change up until the time of your FP, but there may not be another time that's agreeable to you. I was really lax on this trip, particularly after the race, so I didn't always stick to the schedule planned. Sometimes I missed my FP+ opportunities b/c I was at the wrong park or got a late start and there wasn't another time available. The lines were so short this trip that it didn't really matter to me if I missed a FP+ window, so I might be more adherent to the times if the parks were really crowded.

I did get an email though about my Test Track FP+ at one point. The ride was down and thus I would not be able to FP+ it, so the email offered me the option to change times. That was nice, as I didn't have to get out of the line I was standing in at F&W Fest to discover the ride was down.

Thanks everyone for letting me know how things are working or not working for you with the FastPass+
I think we will give it a try on our trip in March. But I am also hoping that the lines will be down. We have plans to go first week before Spring Break and the Flower and Garden Show starts that Wed.

I just had a friend that returned from Disney and she loved the Fastpass+. She has three teenagers and she said it made it really nice to not have to run all over the park first thing in the morning trying to snag the Fast Passes. Her big love of it was that she scheduled hers for later in the afternoon because she said trying to get everyone up and ready in the morning is always a hassle (3 teenage girls...Lol). She said they could take their time in the morning and when they got there, just kind of do what they wanted because they knew they would get to ride the big ones in the afternoon so they didn't have to worry about it and didn't feel so rushed in the mornings.

IsabelSnow

Once you use one of your Fast Passes can you get one for another ride or do you have to wait until all have been used? Or do you only get the 3 that you pre-selected for that day?
Hope this makes sense.

You can only get three per day.

Isabel - I was wondering this myself, if you could only have 3 FP+ a day, or 3 at any given time of that day. I have a feeling it is limited to 3 a day, but will be curious to see if someone knows for sure.

At this point, you can only schedule fastpasses through fastpass+ for one park per day. This may change in the future.

I had a friend who just went. She said you could only get the 3 fast passes in one park on her magicband. But when they park hopped, she was able to get regular fast passes the old way in the next park.

I am not having a positive experience trying to schedule fast pass+. We normally only use fast pass for soarin and toy story. I keep getting passes for thrill rides I won't use. Glad to hear for now we could revert to old fast passes for now. I know it will work out but creating a cloud if anxiety right now.

How can you use the old system if you don't have the card to put in the kiosk? If you have the bands? I know in the beginning testing they were giving you both, right? But I guess I am assuming in Feb it will be totally live and just get the bands?

Well the old system will eventually be gone and it will be just fastpass+. From my understanding, you will always have the option for the band or KTTWC. You are not supposed to use both regular fastpass and fastpass+.

I just got back from Disney today. We don't have magic bands yet because we are annual pass holders but we don't stay in Disney resorts. Therefore, we will be some of the last people to get the bands. So we were still only using the old Fast pass system. However, we saw many people with bands and we asked a few questions of several different workers. This is what we were told by 5 different workers at 5 different attractions and guest relations at AK and MK. They all gave us the same info.

If you have a magic band you get 3 Fast pass+ per day TOTAL, and they must all be used at the same park. They cannot be used at different parks on the same day. Each worker did tell us though that until the old Fast pass system is completely eliminated, people with magic bands are welcome to use the old fast pass system at any of the other parks, once you have used your 3 fast pass+ options at your first park.

They said there will come a time(we were told sometime in the near future, but no one has a definitive date yet, not even guest relations) when your magic bands will not work with the old fast pass system. Once this happens you will get 3 fast pass+ choices per day, and all must be used at one park only. Once those 3 fast pass+ choices are gone, that's it until the next day. We were also told by guest relations, that they are still in the "testing" phase and they don't expect everything to be completely changed over to magic bands only until springtime 2014. But again, no definitive dates yet.

So I guess when checking in make sure you ask for a key to the world card as well? That seems like a lot... I'm going to check and make sure there isn't a way to use the magic bands with the old machines
