Favorite Solo Activities at WDW

Though it's wonderful to share the Magic with friends and family, there are some things that for me that are just better on my own.

  • Planning - Don't mess with me when I'm planning a Disney trip! i may occasionally want to discuss it or possibly ask for input, but for the most part my family knows to stay out of the way and just go in the direction I point them in.

  • Photography - This is a big one, because I like to move at my own pace and not be rushed. For me photography with the family along is difficult because they always want to keep moving while I'm taking 1000 pictures.

  • Transportation - It is so much easier to get one person from point A to Point B than it is to get six people there. I enjoy being in transit much more solo.

Are there things that you love to do Solo that just don't have the same quality for you when you're with a group? What are your favorite solo activities at WDW?

I've never been solo, but I'd love taking advantage of the single rider lines if I was there by myself!

I completely agree about planning.

I also enjoy Magic Kingdom best on my own. I'd rather be with hubby and/or friends at the other parks, but no one I've ever gone with loves MK as much as I do. Hubby especially - it's his least favorite park. So when I went to MK all by my lonesome, I had the BEST TIME EVER. I rode my favorites several times and only stopped long enough to eat!

I have never gone by myself but it is something I do look forward to. You can go at your own pace and not worry that you are holding someone else up. It is definitely on my list of things to do.

During the Flower and Garden Festival my friend and I split up a few times to attend mini seminars individually. She really wanted to see the perfume plants display, I wanted to see how they grew tea leaves. We also went around shops alone every so often and met up when we were ready to go to a different area.

I love solo trips. My favorite solo activities include single rider lines, eating and snacking when I want to stop and eat, taking my time to stroll through the parks. I love browsing through stores and seeing shows or stores that I might overlook with a group.
