Good list. Everyone loves the Flying Fish, though I'm not into seafood so I've never been. You've reminded me of how good Kona was last time I was there. I got the steak & eggs, and while it may have been because I was famished they were AWESOME. Maybe I need to add Kona to the itinerary for my next trip.

Hi,

Hard question to answer. I'm assuming that this covers both CS and TS, and they're in no particular order.

LeCellier
Flame Tree BBQ
Starring Rolls Bakery
Beaches and Cream
Trails End Buffeteria
Crystal Palace
50's Prime Time Cafe
Yakitori House
Liberty Tree Tavern
Columbia Harbor House

Does the new Disney Visa free dining package coincide with Mousefest? That'd be a great time to try this plan! (Book now though; I imagine that deal is gonna book up the expensive restaurants like it does every September. eek eek )

I've never been to Chef Mickey's. Is it the food that sells it or the location?

I've never eaten at Olivia's, but my parents love it. Is it worth the trip over to OKW?

My two favorite meals at WDW were at Le Chefs de France and Mama Melrose's. I liked Wolfgang Puck too, but I don't really count that as a "WDW restaurant".

Hi bali,

I've only been to Olivia's once (December 9, 2003). The food, inspired by what you may get in Key West (such as conch chowder and key lime pie) is pretty good there.

Isn't it at the Port Orleans's French Quarter food court? At least that where it was when we stayed there a few years ago.

Zz.

Do they compare to Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans?

Cafe du Monde is great but since I will not actually be in NO, I will gratefully and willingly try the food court. Beignets!! Yum!!

laugh Hi everyone!

I stayed at POFQ from December 8-15, 2004 in room 3144 (building 3, first floor, 44th room) but didn't take the time then to sample the beignets (pronounced ben-YAYS). I finally had one, my first ever, in December, 2006. Similar to a doughnut without the hole with powdered sugar on top, beignets are delicious. They are served in the POFQ food court, which is named Sassagoula Foodworks, and is located to your right as you enter the main check in building.

yay

Jim finally gave us the down-low. I'm going to be sure to check them out next time. Honestly thought I've said on every trip that I want to go get some and I never wind up doing so.

Gosh, am I the first one to add Jiko to the list? (They've made great improvements)
No particular order:
California Grill
Jiko
Boma
Citricos
Victoria & Albert's (chef's table counts as two choices!)
Flying Fish Cafe
Chef's de France
Bistro de Paris
Shula's Steak House (technically on property)

I was hoping Wave, which I reviewed on my flog, would be better than it is. Maybe they can make some improvements and make it on to the list.

There's actually a thread on Jiko as the most romantic WDW restaurant. It may be climbing onto my top 10 quickly. Other old favorites tend to start disappointing and Jiko was excellent when I went. The ribs were one of the more interesting things I ate the whole time I was there. The decor is quite interesting too.

What are your dish recommendations at Jiko Scott?

Scott do you have a higher recommendation in the romance department?

I posted a review of Jiko on the flog not long ago. Some of the items I liked included the berbere-braised lamb and the Arctic char. Berbere is a spicy blend of spices that went quite nicely with the slightly gamey lamb.
For an appetizer, the ostrich schnitzel was pretty good, if a little odd-sounding. It's an interesting fusion of a European favorite with a more African ingredient.

As for romance, you can't get much moodier than Victoria & Albert's.

I think a while back we asked if anyone on here had been to V&A's and no one had. Have you done a review for them as well Scott?
