First Park? Second Park? etc.

So, what's the FIRST park you head to when you make it back "home" to WDW?? Mine's Magic Kingdom, just because of all the magical memories that it floods my brain with from childhood. THEN, it's Epcot. Then, it's always a toss-up between AK and DHS, depending on crowd levels.

How 'bout YOU??

It's a toss up for us - either MK or HS.

MK, like you said, is just magical! The opening ceremony stirs me all up inside. But HS has my 2 favorite rides - ToT and Rock n Roller Coaster. And RnR is my official "we are here!!" ride. So really either one, but those 2 are first and second.

I once tried to plan for AK as our first park, and the closer we got, I just couldn't do it and switched it to MK! Nothing against AK, but just not right for us for ur first day Smile

I'll say ditto to the above. No matter what we SAY we will do when we get there, we always end up walking down Main Street, and spending time at MK. It is not my favourite park - that's Epcot, but I think it's the park that says "Disney" the most for me. mickey

Usually MK for us because there is nothing like walking down that monorail ramp and seeing the main entrance and then the first view of the castle just so you know your here!!! Then EPCOT. This year however will be different just because we are staying at the BCV so we will walk through EPCOT to get to the monorail to go to the MK, i avoid the bus whenever possible

Funny, we always save MK for last, just because it is the most magical and we like to save the best for last. mickey

I've been starting at Epcot, only because I'm there for the last weekend of the F&W Festival.

Ah!! I want to do that so badly one day.

The two times I've gone, it's been Magic Kingdom first. Seeing Main Street and the castle just set the mood for the entire trip. Extra points if the Mayor is there!

Magic Kingdom is my go to first! I find it starts the week off in a truly magical way!

MK will be our first, especially since it is EMH

AK ... Get it out of the way and seems to be less busy while everyone starts their week at MK

I make my plans based on the crowd calendar - we try to catch each park when it's predicted to be at its least crowded for the week we're there. Last three trips, we've started at Epcot. All three also involved the Food & Wine Festival, so we wanted to start there anyway.

Last year my 5 Disney park days were Epcot, Epcot, MK, DHS/MK, DHS/Epcot. No AK last year. This year the current plan is Epcot/DHS, Epcot/MK, DHS/Epcot, AK/Epcot, MK/Epcot. (We love the Food & Wine Festival! And park hopping.) But it's early yet, so those plans might change as the crowd calendar changes.

I agree about saving MK for last. We love Epcot, but MK is the most magical park.

If I had my choice it would be the Magic Kingdom. However, most of my traveling compainions prefer to start out at Epcot, so that's usually the first stop!

Magic kingdom is our regular first. We've adapted a couple of times and opened with Epcot once and Animal Kingdom once, but that was due to crowds.

That stroll up Main Street does it every time.

When the kids were little, we'd do EPCOT first and then MK the next day. The feeling was that MK sets some pretty high expectations for kids and making it the first part would make hard for them to "tolerate" EPCOT, HS, or AK.

For us, since we have a little one, we start our week out at Animal Kingdom. Then we usually visit Epcot, then Hollywood Studios and then Magic Kingdom. We always get park hoppers so we end up visiting Epcot and MK several times during the trip but not so much AK or HS.

I once read that when visiting with little ones to save MK toward the end of the trip because if you do it first they will be disappointed by the other parks.

Ditto this....we're using our park hoppers and are planning on alternating hitting MK or Epcot at least once a day in addition to the other parks.

I almost feel wrong about not hitting MK first this time around, but since we're going for the F&WF this year and will be arriving later in the day our first day, we're headed to Epcot first!

I almost can't make myself hold off on MK...I try, but I always fail attempting to do another park first! I guess it's because I don't get to go very often (every couple of years or so), and so once I cross the gates to The World, I end up running down Main Street like a maniacal 5 year old (until my husband tells me to stop because I'm scaring the children around me.) Smile
