First week of September?

Anyone else headed to WDW early September? I realize that's an odd time and there's very little going on but I was hoping I was not alone.

That's a pretty good time to go in my experience. Although it's still surprisingly hot. I believe the plan is for us to go towards the end of the month.

Joe and Jan are true Disney romantics muchlove

I think the first week in September will be great. You'll still have longish hours in the parks, but the crowds will be in a lull between summer and Food and Wine. My trips in early Sept have been the ones where we get to ride Splash Mountain and Space Mountain over and over again without getting off!

It seemed like the best time to avoid a crowd. Me and my BFF are social but too many people and we feel overwhelmed. yuck I'm really excited yay but I just hope there is still plenty to do in the "off?" season. crossfingers

I think I could spend six months in WDW and still not get everything crossed off my list -- even in the off season!

Are you guys doing any water parks or anything? With a newbie, the theme parks alone will offer so much to do!

According to the "schedule" I've completely made up in my head. We should be able to hit each park for a day and have 2 days to "rest" which for us means hit up a park a second day. biggrin ... So I'm sure we will find more than enough to do.

Are you guys going to visit Downtown Disney at all?

Exactly.

Are you going over Labor Day? That weekend may be a little more crowded but other than that it's a great time of year to go! You won't be bored!

I was going to plan on water parks and downtown and other things but then I realized I was going a bit nuts. So Downtown isn't literally in the plan but it will most likely happen. awesome

Very cool. Yeah, we always plan more than we can possibly do. Correction: I always plan more than we can possibly do. My husband is much more reasonable about knowing what can fit into the plan and what can't! laugh

Free Dining may make the parks a bit more crowded than usual..but all in all it will be a good time. Kids are just back in school and aside from Labor Day weekend people aren't really going to pull kids out the first few weeks of school.
